  • Fun Toy - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Bought this Crew Cab Pre-runner for weekend Home Depot trips. So far, I am extremely impressed and am still wondering how Toyota could sell a truck with so much for such a reasonable price. Toyotas reputation caused me not to consider any competition models. The truck is well built, high quality and comfortable. It is actually fun to drive with plenty of power. I love its look.

  • Great Truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I saw a picture and description of the X-Runner in Car & Driver magazine. I liked what I saw - a sharp looking, performance oriented truck with a sports car handling package and a 6-speed manual transmission with ground effects to round out the package. All this and Toyota quality. Also, the interior is excellent including controls, gauges and comfort. Seats are great, stereo system excellent as well. Exterior fit and finish (desert sand pearl) are of the best quality I have seen. Before I purchased this truck I questioned quite a few Tacoma owners and all had positive comments. Thanks for a great truck

  • Toyota IS the best - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I looked for the perfect vehicle for almost a year. A lot of research pointed me to Toyota. The Tacoma has come so far that I can hardly believe it. What a versatile vehicle! And, it feels like driving a car. Still breaking it in though, so well see...

  • Cheap, cheap cheap - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I bought this truck febuary of last year. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made! I have only 23,000 miles on this truck, and as of now its in the shop being worked on once again. Two transmissions, one rear differential, Bed is cheap - you cant load anything on it, the tail gate can only hold 100 pounds! So many more things to list that make me regret buying this truck. I had a 96 tacoma 4wd and it has 160k. Ive never put anything into it, so I know its not driver error. If youre not considering buying an older tacoma forget this!!

  • Best truck ive ever had - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Ive had my 2006 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Offroad for 2 yrs now and LOVE it. The only downside i can find doesnt even apply to me which is the steering wheel tilted all the way up is still very difficult for my big brother (64 260) to drive comfortably. He loves the room in the backseat better than our dads Chevy Z71. I have put over 28K on the truck without doing anything but oil change every 5K and new tires once. I did put on a 3 in leveling kit with 265/75/16 tires. I can say im sold on Toyota Tacoma as my truck of choice for the future!

I have had my truck for just about a month now, and I love to drive it. We took it on a trip to NJ and got 20 mpg. Not bad for a pickup.

This truck has been a glory whether driving in the snow or on drive asphalt. The truck handles like no other Ive driven (just in case your wondering Ive driven ford, chevy, mazda and GMC). It also does very well for gas for a 4.0 liter engine. This is a phenomenal truck.

Use the truck only for recreation; road trips to races, tailgating, a few cross-country road trips. Im 65" and have plenty of legroom. Firm but comfortable ride, hiway mileage is acceptable. Have an automatic tranny and quickly learned to keep the truck in 4th in hill county. 5 speeds are nice for flatland mileage but it constantly shifts between 4th and 5th in hilly country. Only major complaint is that the paint is junk. "Impulse red" looks great but it chips if you look at it wrong. Ive seen this complaint from other reviewers so Im far from alone. Never, ever had a vehicle that chipped so easily. If it werent for this Id rate the truck as far and away the best in class.

This truck has all the power you will need. The brakes are spongy and the clutch takes getting used to. Otherwise, this truck is typical Toyota quality.

  • Strong enough for Papa but Made for Mama - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I have owned a few Toyotas 1985 Celica Gts -- 1990 (I think) Previa -- 1997 Rav4 but I the Tacoma is by far my favorite. A neighbour saw my truck in the garage (yep - It even fits in the garage) and asked my daughter how her Dad liked HIS truck. News flash ... This truck is great for us ladies who still like to have fun, love to go to the mountains and yet want a safe, reliable and quiet ride. Move over boys! Im loving the sport package and the awesome sound system! The interior is mod looking and has lots of room. I love how the Tacoma handles on the highway and it has lots of punch in the city but I cant wait to go camping!!
