  • Its Time for Toyota - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Ive been waiting so long for a truck like this to come along, MAN do I love this Truck! I have always liked small trucks and wanted one for several years but, up until now, the small truck market was just too impractical (small) and wimpy (underpowered). I have a family and need to have a roomy cab, a powerful engine, and good cargo space but I dont work construction so I want it in a right-sized package. Finally it had to look cool. This Truck just hits the nail right on the head. Its actually fun to drive, tons of torque and acceleration, great road feel plus great gas mileage. This truck is a head-turner and its my first Toyota, why did I wait so long????

  • love my 4X4 - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I bought an 06 Dbl cab TRD sport 4X4, it took me 3 months to get this truck the way I wanted it but I have it now. Nice truck, speedway blue is the bomb. Got 17 mpg on first tank, not bad. Just put a Flowmaster muffler, sounds real good now. I wish the electric plug in the back wood work with the truck not running, useless this way.

  • Peppy performance & excellent fuel economy - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

The fuel economy has been pleasant surprise avg. 27 mpg once got 27.76 over 400 miles mixed driving never less than 25.23. The larger than avg. 2.7L 4 cyl has plenty of low end torque with the manual trans. This trucks interior is very comfortable. The truck feels very safe and stable at high interstate speeds. I spend most of my driving on public roads where this truck feels stable and manuverable, not tippy.

  • Almost perfect. Id buy it again. - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Mine is PreRunner V6 Quad Cab Longbed. The rails in the bed are perfect for an Extang Black Max Tonneau. Plenty of room and comfort for family and big dog on trip. Longbed perfect for luggage to ladders to tree limbs going to the dump. Best mileage is 23 hwy, but driving fast loaded can get it to 18. No problems of any kind after one year and 15000 miles. I didnt realize it when I bought it, but the LB has a Suburban size wheelbase, and therefore a large turning radius, which makes small spaces tight. Seating is comfortable on long trips and provides good driver support. Im 61" and 190. Vision all around is good. Unless you deal with small parking spaces every day, buy the longbed.

  • Solid truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Truck gives feel of a larger truck, plenty of room. V6 extremely strong; it acts like its ready to jump upon request. TRD package gives truck nice stiff ride; it handles curves and bumpy roads nicely. Only had it a few weeks and I feel I made a good decision to purchase. All the truck youll ever need for occasional hunting trips or to haul your gear.

  • Close but still not the perfect "10" - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

After much research through this site, I decided to buy the Tacoma. It seemed to come out on top (or close) with each comparison (e.g. mileage, towing, interior room, styling, and sense of quality. This truck leaves a lasting impression of quality. Gives a solid "thud" when closing the doors (I love that sound!). Good visibility although the rear headrests can be obstructive. Some of the negative areas I have found since ownership is the automatic transmission seems to search around for the right gearing to match your speed. The brakes also seem a little squishy. I havent towed with the vehicle yet but am cautiously curious about braking performance under load.

  • A great truck! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I traded my 98 f-150 for a 06 Tacoma with the TRD package.I spent 6 months pricing and researching various trucks before chosing the tacoma. I have been impressed with this truck from the first test dive I took. The ride is great, it feels like a mid-size sedan, very smooth on the freeway with little outside noise. The interior finish is impressive, everything is well laid out,I love the red gauges and the interior storage.I can see myself in this truck for the next 5-10 years!

  • Shell be missed - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Unfortunatly I was in a very bad accident with my 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad. It was the best car I have ever purchased. I have to say it was my Tacoma that saved my life in the head on collision. I was hit head on by someone who jumped the double yellow and I managed to escape with a broken leg and a messed up knee. No head, back or neck injuries. I used my truck everyday to and from work, on and off the beach towing my pop up camper trailer and boat trailer, snow, rain with no problem ever. I never had as much as a flat tire in my truck. I would recommend this truck to anyone that ever goes off road or just likes having a small truck that drives like a big one with out the gas.

  • 66,000 and still love it - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Outside some flimsy door panels that dealer said he replaced and didnt, just glued reinforcements in door elbow rest, Im fairly happy. Installed a 2.5" front lift via Bilstein adjustable shocks & a 1" rear lift via blocks with matching Bilstein 5100s. I average 23- 24mpg on summer fuel, 21-22 on winter fuel. Light in the rear on wet roads, but thats to be expected. Also alot of driveline noise from day one, but my 93 model had same thing. I plan on another 100,000 miles, I love it that much.
