So I wrote a review two years ago right when I bought the 2010 Corolla. A lot has changed and only for the worse. When Im on the highway it sounds like there is something retelling around the roof, and Im getting the feeling like the roof will fall off, it happens more on a windy day, also the car is starting to jerk when Im in drive at 40mph trying to go faster. The car also has a problem with pick up when I want to accelerate and switch lanes. Over all Im getting scared of driving this car, and Im thinking of trading it in, not for another Toyota, I believer they are getting to expensive and the quality is going down hill. The dealer always has excuses on not looking in to this mater.

  • Reliable car...costs too much - 2010 Toyota Corolla

this a 2010 Corolla S Automatic canadian edition, drove 16000+kms for 5 months now. my last car was a 1998 corolla VE, drove it for more than 6 years and 200000+kms. Not much changes to the basic car, drives without much problem. i drive around 150kms a day on weekdays and averages 7.2liters/100kms. Good traction on snow and ice when combined with michelin X ice tires. Observations- Paint chipped off with few months, On cold mornings the accessories belt/pulley whines while starting. Both these according to Toyota Service advisor are usual and they can do nothing about it! Gear change from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 had a slight delay, the dealership corrected it during 2nd service

  • Decent Car - 2010 Toyota Corolla

Overall it is not a bad car to drive. The transmission is really smooth and the car provides enough power for most drivers in this segment. Steering is electric and feels every bit of it; that is okay for some but not others. This is my first Toyota and I have to say Im left underwhelmed. Its bland which is Toyota, but my car has not been "reliable". The interior dash rattles due to hard plastics it seems, had to take it in for the recall, fix a loose bracket on the muffler, and replace the front struts - all with under 8000KMS on it, and the bumper half came off when it brushed up against a curb. I dont suggest not buying it, but Toyotas quality might be slipping with this one.

  • Steering a problem - 2010 Toyota Corolla

I owned a 2008 Corolla and loved it. The steering and vibration problems with this model are a real problem. Ive taken it back twice and the dealer isnt interested in the problem. Now I know why... they cant fix it!

  • Unacceptable - 2010 Toyota Corolla

I was so excited to buy this beautiful car. Great features and nice look. However, the cars defining characteristic is its potentially life-threatening steering problem. The car feels like its in a high wind at 60 mph, and driving at 75 mph is downright harrowing. Repeatedly veered near other high-speed traffic on I5. At one point I found myself about 3 feet into the HOV lane before I could correct it. Requires constant vigilance to stay in my own lane, and after 160 miles my hands and arms ached. Very, very scary. Visibility for reversing and checking driver-side traffic is bad. The most important thing I can say here is test drive this car on the highway at 70 mph or dont buy it at all.

  • Unpredictable Handling - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

The handling of this thing is worst of the 6 FWD vehicles Ive owned--makes driving work instead of pleasure. Like riding a half-broke horse, you dont know which way its going and when! I doubt its due to weight--other small cars dont have the problem. Otherwise, price, pep, gas mileage, visibility, noise levels are good for this level of vehicle. Poor center armrest for driver. After I bought it, dealership informed me it needs undercoating from them or Ziebart because its not done at factory! The vehicle would be a keeper if the steering mechanism was reliable and it tracked well. Best thing about car is its a Toyota and I should be able to unload it easily for a decent price.

  • Corolla CE with Enhanced Convenience Pkg - 2010 Toyota Corolla

Corolla is quiet, smooth, pleasant. This car is not really designed for tall people, and people of average-and- above girth. Im 62" and 180 pounds; the leg space is acceptable (just so- so), but my left elbow is passed the door elbow rest, with the seat all the way back; the seat cushion is too narrow - its side bolsters dig into my behind, making longer drives very uncomfortable. There is no lumbar support. The steering wheel telescopes and tilts, which is good. Controls are logically placed, simple, and easy to operate. Amber back-lighting of the instrument panel looks great, but the red needles badly crash with it. The stereo system sounds very basic.

  • Disappointed with Toyota Corolla - 2010 Toyota Corolla

I knew I was buying a very cheap car that would get great gas mileage. However, I guess that it would be marginally better than my low expectations. Gas is Good, but not what was on the sticker. Im at around 28 mpg. Tires show excessive wear at only 10,000 miles. And car will not start sometimes. Had it to the Toyota dealer and they cant find the problem. They will however sell me additional services that are not requested. I should have bought the Elantra!

  • Better cars available than the Corolla - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Toyota of Dallas has great Customer Relations, Service, and New Car Sales. Im satisfied with them. I am not satisfied with this car. My commute is 6 miles local one-way. I average 22-23 mpg. The steering is stiff, there is a huge driver side blind spot, tire noise is very noticeable, the ABS engages even at low speeds and makes a whirring sound. Cornering and braking doesnt inspire confidence. Acceleration is jerky. Interior is cheap quality with lots of plastic. Look at the flimsy rear cup holders! I wish the headrests and armrests were softer. Lastly my change holder broke already after two months and I didnt use it once. I like the mud flaps, rear bumper protector, cargo net and tray.

  • Overall Garbage - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Got this as a hand me down three weeks ago with 32,000 miles. Ride is terrible. I feel every pebble in the road. Traction control stunts hard/quick acceleration at all speeds. Steering wonders at high speed. Cheap interior quality, the plastics rattle. Wind noise is bad. Cheap feel overall. Dealer has to do certain customizable feature for you. My 2005 Civic with 183,000 miles was better in every way. Including MPG. (Note: I never changed the shocks and only did routine maintenance on it) And this car does not have as much room as the Civic. Civic all the way.
