Solara four-cylinder models will achieve ultralow emission vehicle (ULEV) status. A convertible version is now offered for topless fun. SLE models get a JBL premium audio system as standard equipment, and an in-dash six-disc CD changer is optional. Two new exterior colors are offered.

  Fantastic car - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara

  I bought this car used a few years ago with ~75000 miles. Turns out to be one of the best buys Ive made. The Solara runs like a top. Its been nothing but reliable and remarkably sturdy. Even now with 105000 on the odometer the steering is still tight and it rides just as nice as the day I bought it. I had the 100000 mile service done at the dealer recently which set me back around $1000. Other than that I havent had to do anything outside of gas/tires/oil change. Overall a very good car. Comfortable, relatively roomy, great gas mileage, superb reliability, even fast and steady on the highway. The only problem now is, what do I replace it with when it does wear out in 5 to 10 years?

  The only problem I had with this vehicle is that it shakes when you brake. But that might have been because of the factory brakes they put on because I have not had a problem since I changed the brakes.

  Bought the SLE coupe as a certified used vehicle about a year ago and have put 17,000 trouble free miles on the car. Smooth, quite ride (except with the sunroof open). Great acceleration and good handling. Gas mileage is lower than I wouldve expected from a V6...Im averaging 21-22..would expect 24 or so...but even so, it is still well worth it!!

  I purchased my Solara in April 2000. I was in love with it then, and still love it now. It’s a great car for the money. It’s sleek and sophisticated, yet it’s still a tried and true Toyota. From an indicator light that tells you when one of your tail lights is out to the digital climate control...this Toyota has got it. If you’re looking for more bells and whistles, buy a Lexus. But, if you’re looking for a reliable, stylish, slightly sporty, V6 with 200-hp, at a decent price...I say this is the car.

  I bought my Camry Solara after having a Camry for 8 years. I havent had any problems with my car. My Solara was vandalized after somebody couldnt get the doors forced opened so I added a shock senser to the factory alarm. Now if you hit my car the horn and lights flash. Other than that my car has been excellent.

  I lovingly call my Solara MILAGROS because its a miracle that I was able to get this car. This is by far the best car I have ever driven! At first I was shooting for an AUDI, but when I came across my Solara, wow was I surprised! With the exception of shaky brakes, its perfect! I even turn heads where ever I go (Milagros is Periwinkle). Its a luxury sports coupe, handles the road beautifully, especially the turns! The sound system is spectacular (trust me, Im an Audio Engineer, I know what Im talking about!) The 6 disc CD player is such a great bonus, the trunk is huge, and theres lots of leg room in the back, more than any other coupe Ive driven. I love it!!!

  I bought this used 2000 Solara in 2004 with 24K miles on it. It has Potent V6 engine, Stick shift, leather interiors, sunroof... everything. I wanted to go for a BMW 330Ci but got this baby for less than half the price. I am extremely happy with the decision. This car is so comfortable that I can drive from Virginia to NY with minimum fatigue, a sports car can kill you for doing that. Its so reliable almost maintenance free. It very quiet to drive and pickup is unbelievable for a car of this size... it can fit 5 adults, 6+ comfortably... fuel economy is good, looks great. Not to forget the sound system that great too... In short there is nothing bad about this car that I can share....

  This is my second 2000 Toyota Solara. I purchased my first in 2009 when it had 103,000 miles on it. I really wanted a newer car, with less miles, but I "settled" for an old car with high mileage, wondering if I had made a mistake. Fast forward to September of this year, my mistake" now had 310,000 miles. It was beginning to show its hard, long mileage. So needing a reliable long distance vehicle for my job, I bought ANOTHER 2000 Solara with ONLY 176,000 miles from a couple that decided their poor old car was aging. Yay for me!

  I havent had it to the shop once and it drives just like new. Still very, very quiet and solid.
