Solara four-cylinder models will achieve ultralow emission vehicle (ULEV) status. A convertible version is now offered for topless fun. SLE models get a JBL premium audio system as standard equipment, and an in-dash six-disc CD changer is optional. Two new exterior colors are offered.

  Great Ride - 2000 Toyota Camry Solara

  I have owned this car for two years and it is great fun and a great ride. The mileage is acceptable at 20 or so. It has smooth acceleration, good power, comfortable leather seats, good visibility with the roof down and excellent suspension and steering. I am only able to keep the top down 6 months of the year, but it is a pleasure to drive in the winter too. With the roof down, it is still quiet and very fun to drive! The only thing I do not like is the cover for the roof. It is hard to put on and the one I got with the car broke fairly quickly, but I got it replaced on warranty. This is overall the smoothest, nicest, funnest car I have owned!

  Wonderful car. I love the fact I can hang wih BMWs, MBs, Lexii, and not feel embarassed. Smooth ride, refined exterior lines, quick punch with a manual tranny & 200HP engine, and hasnt given me problems through 51K. No rattles, thumps, bumps, or left-ward leaning.

  We bought a bright red coupe automatic about 3 years ago when it had 57k miles on it. Now it has 84k. Ive replaced the brakes, tires, spark plugs, battery, and a starter, all wear items (except the starter). The car is exceptionally smooth and quiet (like a sewing machine), the leather feels like the leather in a Avalon or Lexus, gas mileage is good (mid 20s), and has never let us down. This has been a great car for the kids to drive. It also makes me feel like a teenager when I drive it (long doors, sporty feel). It is not terribly powerful (135 hp), but it does not overwhelm a young driver with power either. It also has a surprising amount of back seat room.

  bought it used in 2004 for 12k with 76000 miles. 6 years later it has 169 000 miles. changed a radiator few years ago for $400 and a sensor for $180 last year. oil change every 3 months at $19.99. been in 4 accidents - 2 rear, 1 front and back (changed front bumper for $600)

  I was looking for a used car for my mom at the Toyota dealer when I first saw my Solara. It was an SLE, fairway green with the gold package. I was taken by its looks and elegant style. To this day, when I approach my car from the front at an angle, I stop to gaze at her. I LOVE THIS CAR. Routine maintenance has given me 40K trouble free miles. The JBL audio, with the help of a 10 Bazooka, silences any want of more from a sound system. Toyota combined looks and reliability to match my sense of style and fiscally conservative personality perfectly. Owning this car has raised my level of expectations of what a car can stand for.

  My autumn-red Toyota Solara has been so fine! Its one of the two best cars Ive ever owned in thirty years. The engine is so smooth as it accelerates through the gears. The ride is extremely nice. And theres LOTS of room inside the car. The backseat legroom is especially generous for a 2-door of this type--even long-legged men are comfortable in the back.The trunk is large and roomy. And Ive had absolutely NO mechanical work done on it in more than four years. Its a wonderful car. Love my Solara!

  Bought used with 11k at 1 year old. Good pickup; handles well at high speeds. Not great in snow.
