This Year's Model Updates:

Want air conditioning, power windows/locks/mirrors and variable intermittent wipers on the CE? Buy the Value Package. To get remote keyless entry or a power driver seat on the LE, you must buy a Value Package. A power moonroof and an in-dash six-disc CD changer require the Leather Value Package on XLE models. LE V6 models get daytime running lights standard, while JBL audio is optional on all LEs. The anti-theft system with engine immobilizer is restricted to XLE V6 models.

Pros:
  • Toyota reliability, incredibly powerful and refined optional V6, excellent resale value.
Cons:
  • High prices, uncomfortable seats, forgettable styling.

  • Im Jealous - 2001 Toyota Camry

The wife bought this in 2002 with 28000 on it. Well I am a Mercedes/BMW man. So in 2002 I drive this and I am saying, while nice quiet ride no engine noise great power. Soon Im trying to get new tires and trying to match her dang Camry ride! She gets all service for next to nothing. Never a prob with this Camry. Last year 2008 Im looking at 2009 BMW or Mercedes, test drives were comparing to Camry ride. Camry wins no doubt. So smooth Im falling asleep. So she wins Im getting her a new 2010 XLE v6. Only V6 by the way. My new car is her old 2001 Camry with 114000 on it. Sweet as ever and quiet as ever. Sweet ride.

  • Most Reliable Car Ever Built - 2001 Toyota Camry

Having purchased five Hondas, and as good as Hondas are, I must say that I certainly dont feel that the Camry gives up anything in the way of handling to my 2004 Accord Coupe, but I have gained a much smoother and quieter Lexus-like ride. This car is just so easy to drive and the ergonomics are tops. Best car for the money in my opinion. I should also mention that since Ive owned the Camry (April 2001), I have not had one single problem. Put the superb Nokian all season tires on this car and the Camry sticks to the ground like glue in rain or snow. The 2001 four cylinder feels somewhat underpowered around town (especially after driving the 6-cylinder 2004 Accord Coupe with 245hp), but once you get moving, especially on the highway, the refinement of the engine really shows. 90 miles per hour on the highway and this engine is as smooth as silk.

  • Excellent auto - 2001 Toyota Camry

I bought this car used in 2003. The body and interior look brand new, it drives like a new car. I havent done any repairs. I perform the schedule routine maintenance and am thoroughly satisfied with the performance. I see no need to purchase a new car at this time as my Camry is totally reliable.

  • Fun - 2001 Toyota Camry

Most people dont think of a Camry as a fun car to drive, the majority of people think of it as a family car. Im a college student and I absolutely love driving my Camry, it is roomy for someone being 6 foot both in the front and back, it fits everything that I need, it is also a good car for being a designated driver cause it holds a lot of people with still having good visibility and handling. Overall it is a good car, with exceptional features.

  • Cheap to own - 2001 Toyota Camry

Bought this car new in April 01. I have only 46,000 on it but am amazed that nothing has gone wrong with this car in 9 years. Just basic maintenance and 1 new set of tires. I just had the state inspection done and I was waiting for a large bill. I figured after 9 years I was due for some repairs even though it still drives like the day I got it. They told me it didnt need a thing. Would recommend these cars to everybody. I could not imagine a quieter smoother ride.

  • Love my Camry - 2001 Toyota Camry

I have had cars from Mercedes, Porche, and post divorce, a corolla. I loved that Toyotas have cost pennies to maintain. I had my Corolla for 5 yrs, put 98,000 miles on it, only changed oil.Changed front brake pads once. Had Camry for one year. Drive it like crazy cause its roomy. I take it back and forth from Phoenix to Los Angeles. Gets about 470 miles to the gallon so I can get there on one tank of gas and dont have to stop.

  • Money Well Spent :-) - 2001 Toyota Camry

I love my Camry. I have a 01 CE and the only complaint I have is the design is boring, but my car is reliable. Ive put around 61k miles on it since I bought it in 06 and at a little under 130k its still going strong. Replaced charcoal canister a few months after purchase, very minor. Outside of oil changes, brake changes and new tires and alignment Ive had absolutely no problems. Timing belt is due (probably overdue) to be replaced. I love my car and Im going to ride her until the wheels fall off. Im actually in the market for a new vehicle and because of my wonderful experience with "Deja" more than likely Ill be buying another Camry.

  • Very Reliable Vehicle - 2001 Toyota Camry

I purchased this vehicle in 2002. It has been extremely reliable. My Camry currently has 107000 miles on it and all I have ever done to it mechanically is have the oil changed and the battery replaced. It gets excellent gas mileage (28 MPG/HWY). I have one child and the backseat is plenty roomy/comfortable for her. My Camry LE is a Gallery edition so it has several extras that make it look nicer/sportier than the traditional Camry.

  • Plain looking but a great performer! - 2001 Toyota Camry
    By -

Plain Jane to look at but what a comfortable, smooth riding sedan! This is my second consecutive V6XLE (both are manufactured in Japan). On both cars, I never had to REPAIR anything yet. Always dependable in a extreme cold of NJ and heat of FL. If the performance and dependability are important to you, I recommend this model highly.

  • 2001 camry LE - 2001 Toyota Camry

Well, this car is pretty reliable. Have not had major problem with it, Except for 3 times the check-engine light came on. The first time was becasue I didt tighten the gas tank gap properly. the 2nd time it went on, have autozone peps check the reason for me, it says something about transmission fault. I dont quite remember what it was. They deleted the code for me, I thought It was just because I didt tighten the gao properly again. but then, 3 days after that, the check engine light came on again. Had to take it to a toyota dealership, they checked and told me they do not know what the problem is and the car is fine. weird!
