This Year's Model Updates:

Want air conditioning, power windows/locks/mirrors and variable intermittent wipers on the CE? Buy the Value Package. To get remote keyless entry or a power driver seat on the LE, you must buy a Value Package. A power moonroof and an in-dash six-disc CD changer require the Leather Value Package on XLE models. LE V6 models get daytime running lights standard, while JBL audio is optional on all LEs. The anti-theft system with engine immobilizer is restricted to XLE V6 models.

Pros:
  • Toyota reliability, incredibly powerful and refined optional V6, excellent resale value.
Cons:
  • High prices, uncomfortable seats, forgettable styling.

I have 27,400 miles without a problem. The dealer is excellent for maintainance.I drove Detroit to Asheville,N.C.last summer and averaged 36 MPG. I was pleasantly surprised. It is my first non big 3 new car. It has made a believer out of me.

I drive 70+ miles a day mainly on highway. I am not a car person. Did research for more than 10 month before I got rid of my Kia/Sephia 1994 with 70K mile on it, and bought this Toyota. Love it. NEVER BUY KIA!!! I will buy another toyota if I have to.

My Toyota Camry is 15 years old, Im the second owner. I can only say good things about this car, the engine is so quiet you can hardly hear it. If you maintain a vehicle it certainly will pay off.

My mother-in-law bought this car as a dealer demonstrator back in 2001. My wife bought it from her in 2009 and Ive been driving it since 2010. This car is my daily commuter now with just over 120,000 miles on it. Its quiet, smooth ride, comfortable interior and spartan yet efficient control layout is just lovely. Sure, its no sports car, but theres something to be said about a car like this. The gas mileage is decent- Im averaging 24.4 MPG, with 31.9 MPG being my best tank of all-highway miles.

  • SAVED MY LIFE - 2001 Toyota Camry

I financed this car with my Mom in early April, it was my second car. One morning after I picked up my friend for school, I was smashed/tBoned by a 2012 Yukon that was going 70 and ran a red light, at a 45 mph zone, my car was sent flying into another car. This car was TOTALED. No roof, no doors, blown up tires, and no seats. I WALKED away with a scratched up face from hitting my window on impact, but I had NO broken bones, my best friend had 7, and is WALKING with a broken pelvis/hip. Doctors/Witnesses said they have no idea how we survived this accident, if it wasnt for this camry, we would have been dead, Thank you Toyota, You SAVE lives. Get this car for your kid parents its a lifesavef

  • Awesome car. - 2001 Toyota Camry

I needed a car to get me around, also it needed to get good gas mileage. My Toyota Camry fits the bill. It has a nice, firm ride. Build quality is exceptional. The ac blows nice and cold quickly, an important quality living in the desert. The v6 is a rocket motor that will get you a ticket if your not careful. All in all, a car that will be with me for a long time.

This car does not have the best pickup but it rides smoothly and maneuvers well.

  • No major problems - 2001 Toyota Camry

First off the reason why I gave this a 5 in the fun to drive and exterior design is because Im only 26. I traded my 99 Honda Civic in 2004 for this Camry. I prefer the space in the Camry and the durability. I have only been left on the side of the road once and that was my fault for not replacing the timing belt sooner. Bad me! Other than that it has just been scheduled maintenance and a few headlight bulbs to replace. I commute a lot in headlight areas on the highway so im guessing that explains the headlights. I would definitely buy another heaven forbid something happen to the one I drive now. No more Honda Civic for me!

  • Almost 200,000 Miles and still running - 2001 Toyota Camry

Bought car as rebuilt with 450 miles on odometer. Rear had repaired damage and the engine compartment clean. Changed Oil & Filter every 3000 with Castrol 10-30W. AUTO Transmission fluid changed every 22-25K miles. Bosch 4+4 plugs every 20K Miles. Air FILTER element every 20K miles. Radiator flush every 2 years and new fluid. At 199,400 miles changed out catalytic converter and two sensors. Timing belt and water pump changed only twice at 98K miles intervals. MPG around 25 city 29 hwy on regular gas. ride is average and does not handle well in snow or ice unless you have Bridgestone Blizzards tires or equivalent. Only problem is brake rotors tend to warp on hard braking. r
