This Year's Model Updates:

Want air conditioning, power windows/locks/mirrors and variable intermittent wipers on the CE? Buy the Value Package. To get remote keyless entry or a power driver seat on the LE, you must buy a Value Package. A power moonroof and an in-dash six-disc CD changer require the Leather Value Package on XLE models. LE V6 models get daytime running lights standard, while JBL audio is optional on all LEs. The anti-theft system with engine immobilizer is restricted to XLE V6 models.

Pros:
  • Toyota reliability, incredibly powerful and refined optional V6, excellent resale value.
Cons:
  • High prices, uncomfortable seats, forgettable styling.

This is my second camry. The first was a 1991 Camry which I traded in to get my 2001 Camry. We are a Toyota family and I love my 2001 Camry. It seem like the 2001 Camry rides a bit smoother, with a faster pickup. The sound coming from my stereo is awesome.

I loved my 97 Camry. Unfortunately, I lost it after an accident on I-90 when I was rear-ended by another 1991 Camry. I was hit at 65mph+ on my left rear bumper. I was impressed by how much damage the car absorbed and was almost driveable. The bumper was pushed up to the rear left tire after such an impact. I will definitely buy another one because of its structural durability & safety features.

We bought our Camry when our other car died at 60,000 miles. We were looking for a comfortable car, with some nice bells and whistles, that we could drive happily for 100,000 miles or more. The Camry has the performance we look for on the highway, in the snow, rain, and everywhere.

This is my first Toyota, I purchased after extensive research. I was discouraged with repair costs and quality of previous cars. I have put 80K plus in 3.5 years on this Camry. Not one problem, regular oil changes etc. only. Yes, it could have more power, but well worth living without considering all the other good things. I will always buy Toyota based on my past experiences with other cars. Toyota has more recommended used car models than any other make, and I know why. My kids are tired of me saying "BUY A TOYOTA" !!!

Excellent automobile with the utmost in reliability and performance. Just love getting on the freeway and opening up or passing when traffic is tough. The V6 engine is more powerful than I imagined. Comfortable, handles great too. Designed for California roads!!!

  • Very nice at 100K+ - 2001 Toyota Camry

I bought this car used with around 60,000 miles on it. Im now at just over 110,000 and not having any problems with it at all. I got fog lamps placed on it as well as aftermarket cruise control. I have a 5-speed manual and it responds great. It only has a 4 cylinder in it so in any race I end up losing but it handles very nicely on the highway for 16 hour drives and doesnt cost much in maintenance except for a few things that that have needed to be replaced, but doesnt seem bad at 110,000 and still runs clean and smooth. I wish it would hurry up and break down so I could justify going to get a Tacoma truck now.

  • One hell of a car - 2001 Toyota Camry

In the years that I have owned this car the most problem I have had is a computer problem with a dash light, fixed in 1/2 hour at the dealer, a tiny bulb replacement and a battery replacement. It is dependable, comfortable and I am still driving it and not yet ready to replace it, and now knowing that it was probably built in the states makes me feel even better. Thank you Mr. Toyota

  • Squeaky - 2001 Toyota Camry

Squeaky brakes since shortly after break-in. This is considered "an acceptable level of noise" according to the Longo Service Manager. I wonder if they are telling all the new prospective buyers about the noise to come. Ill be listening for you! If you buy a Toyota product, get it in writing...They should fix this problem at their cost!

I saw a post that said I wish itd break down so I can buy the tacoma I want. I was waiting for my Camry to pack it in in the past. But at this point (148K miles) I realize that it will be there for me when I need it. Ive only replaced a tail light bulb on this over and above regular scheduled maintenance!
