Overview & Reviews
The 2000 Toyota Camry sedan receives minor updates. The exterior benefits from new front and rear styling. Camry LE models get 15-inch tires with new wheel covers while the XLE gets standard 16-inch tires. Four-cylinder models make three more horsepower than last year. Interior upgrades include an available JBL premium audio system, automatic climate control, larger buttons on the audio faceplate, imitation wood trim on XLE models, optional leather seats with driver-side power on LE models and new LE model seat fabric. The hood is now supported with struts and dampers.
- Toyota reliability, updated looks, optional V6 power.
- Luxury options quickly jack up price, uncomfortable seats.

Most Reliable Car Ive Ever Owned - 2000 Toyota Camry
By topspin456 - March 24 - 1:11 amI got my Camry when it had 90,000 miles on it and have put 70,000 miles on it in the past 4 years. During this time I have had no expensive issues. I just got new tires last summer and will likely need to replace the brakes soon for the first time. About 5,000 miles ago the drivers side door handle came off, which I guess is pretty common with this year of Camry. Its a pretty simple fix that you can look up on youtube though. My dad had a 95 Camry that he traded in at 290,000 miles and when he drove his new Impala off the lot he missed the smooth ride of his Camry. Toyotas are just well made. #1 in reliability in my opinion.

Quiet comfortable reliable ride no racer - 2000 Toyota Camry
By Jerry-Chicago - March 22 - 10:00 amOne of the most reliable cars. Very quiet and comfortable. First year got better fuel economy figures than factory data. Maybe cause i was gentle driving my new car. Next year heavy loaded made 2600 miles trip with average speed 82 mph and 27 mpg! My only wish is a little bit harder suspention like on new SE models.

TRUST ME... THIS CAR IS AWESOME! - 2000 Toyota Camry
By ToyotaChic - March 8 - 2:00 amI bought the 00 Camry a few years ago, and it hasnt EVER given me problems. The breaks get loose once in a blue moon, but ONLY when you abuse them. The camry is so much fun to drive, its safe, practicle, isnt a gas guzzler (which is GREAT to know now w/high gas prices) and its just AWESOME! really, GET THIS CAR!

Loyal Toyota Owner - 2000 Toyota Camry
By Linda - November 5 - 4:56 pmMy Toyota Camry has required absolutely no repairs, other than regular maintenance, until now at nearly 170,000. How many other car manufacturers can boast that type of reliability. The transmission finally went out. I replaced it with a wrecked models low mileage transmission and shes running like new again. Engine light has been on for nearly 6 years now without any problems. Looking forward to driving her until she reaches 300,000 miles. Then Ill be buying another Toyota Camry!

Im now a loyal Toyota Customer - 2000 Toyota Camry
By gnieob777 - October 24 - 4:46 amHave had great luck with this car. It performs great for a 4 cyl. and handles good too. Zero maintenance problems (currently at 48,000 miles). I like the smart features like how you cant lock the doors with the keys in the ignition. Its also easy to change the oil in this car (4 cyl). So with good reliability, economy, and quality, I am now a loyal Toyota customer. Goodbye Ford and GM...

Sad its Dying - 2000 Toyota Camry
By shanny720 - September 18 - 10:06 amMy grandma talked me into buying a used 2000 Camry LE from a sporty car that I had been eying. It was the best decision made. It had 40,000 at purchase (2004) and how has 162,000. It has been reliable driving through MN snowstorms and flash floods. In fact, Ive made it through snow where bigger vehicles had gotten stuck, and "puddles" where bigger vehicles had flooded. Few problems. The only reason why its dying now is because I didnt change the oil every 3,000 miles. VERY important to keep up on the oil changes with this car!! I was hoping to keep it around for another few years. Make sure to also use Toyota parts.

Toyota Camry Le - 2000 Toyota Camry
By gmcyukonc1500 2wd - September 18 - 2:00 amWhen i bought my car in 2000, i was also looking at a Accord Special Edition. The car didnt have enough room so i bought the Camry Le. My car is very comfy, although it wouldnt kill Toyota to put more padding in the seats. The dash is so easy to use and work with. The radio is GREAT!!!!!.
