This Year's Model Updates:

The 2000 Toyota Camry sedan receives minor updates. The exterior benefits from new front and rear styling. Camry LE models get 15-inch tires with new wheel covers while the XLE gets standard 16-inch tires. Four-cylinder models make three more horsepower than last year. Interior upgrades include an available JBL premium audio system, automatic climate control, larger buttons on the audio faceplate, imitation wood trim on XLE models, optional leather seats with driver-side power on LE models and new LE model seat fabric. The hood is now supported with struts and dampers.

Pros:
  • Toyota reliability, updated looks, optional V6 power.
Cons:
  • Luxury options quickly jack up price, uncomfortable seats.

  • Wrong choice. - 2000 Toyota Camry

I lease the car for 2 and a half years. Got it new and the very first day it broke down on me. They replaced back suspension unit, cutting down the wire on my speaker (putting me in we did not do it situation). Tried to declare it as a lemon, no such luck. Ever since then it is a very unpleasant experience. Customer service is good only when it comes to change the oil. Refuse any responsibility when it comes to something serious. They turn you down smiling. Very noisy, troublegiving car; does not feel safe at all. 5000 miles ago replaced both front struts. MPG is exaggeration; was never able to make as much as they promise.

  • Piece of Toyota Junk - 2000 Toyota Camry

This car is the worst piece of junk Ive ever owned...and I had an 87 Ford Escort. The check engine light is on every other week, the car began burning oil at 40K miles (after regularly changing the oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles). The car has also had a leftward pull while driving since day one. The Toyota dealers I contacted all state that this is normal! Check the internet and youll see numerous complaints about the same leftward pull. Add to this the fact that the car is severely underpowered and handles like a go cart. What a waste. To call it a piece of junk assumes that the car has a purpose and is an insult to junk everywhere!
