The 2000 Toyota Camry sedan receives minor updates. The exterior benefits from new front and rear styling. Camry LE models get 15-inch tires with new wheel covers while the XLE gets standard 16-inch tires. Four-cylinder models make three more horsepower than last year. Interior upgrades include an available JBL premium audio system, automatic climate control, larger buttons on the audio faceplate, imitation wood trim on XLE models, optional leather seats with driver-side power on LE models and new LE model seat fabric. The hood is now supported with struts and dampers.

  I have started buying cars with and investment attitude. Quality and getting lots of mileage is a priority for me. I have enjoyed the car for the chicago area traffic. The gas mileage has been very good, and maintainance has been less then my american cars. The car insurance cost was equivalent to my american made cars. I am sold on toyotas, infact I bought a 97 corolla for my 18 yr old son for college with a 128,000 miles. We both love our cars and they seem to also have been a good investment.

  I have a 91 camry and it is at 302,000 and still running great. My other car is a 2000 camry and Im hoping that it will treat me the same as the 91!! A great car to count on!!

  Ive been having my 2000 Camry since 2005, before that my aunt owned it. she had regularly scheduled maintenance ever 3,000 mi as have I with minimal maintenance. Its easy to work on and drives smoothly @ 148,000 mi. Added short ram to it and have only changed out the radiator plugs and wires, and replaced gasket seals on the valve head and oil pan and door handles. other than that its an Awesome responsive ride.

  This car was brand new on a three yr rental by me in 2000, then purchased at the end of the rental in 2003. What better way to buy when you like the car and know the exact maintenance history? It is now 2009 and the vehicle has 117,000 and the engine is still purring along and the body is still in great shape, rides/handles great and has been very reliable. Only negative is the factory radio. It is very expensive to replace or repair. Overall it has been a great car and I would buy another Toyota.

  i had my camry for 2 years and I love this car. The comfort inside this car is incroyable and the engines smootheness will blow you. Even though I had to replace my brakes at 12k and the tires at 25k i still love this car.

  Bought mine new in 2000 and have had a no major problems with this car. After 7 years still runs smooth for a 4 cylinder. Love the power and reliability and performance. Great with gas mileage.

  EGR valve - 2000 Toyota Camry

  At 88,000 miles the computer analyzed a faulty EGR valve. Replaced the valve ($170.00). The engine check comes back on. I took the the vacuum connected little valve right next to it out and examined it. The top comes off and it contains a little 1" diameter filter inside. Replaced the filter and check engine light was history. Sorry I spent $179 when a little foam filter from the lawnmower did the trick. Otherwise the carry has been a gem never a repair in ten years. This is for doityourselfers to save some money
