The 2000 Toyota Camry sedan receives minor updates. The exterior benefits from new front and rear styling. Camry LE models get 15-inch tires with new wheel covers while the XLE gets standard 16-inch tires. Four-cylinder models make three more horsepower than last year. Interior upgrades include an available JBL premium audio system, automatic climate control, larger buttons on the audio faceplate, imitation wood trim on XLE models, optional leather seats with driver-side power on LE models and new LE model seat fabric. The hood is now supported with struts and dampers.

Boos Camry - 2000 Toyota Camry
By Booo - December 31 - 10:00 amThis is my first Camry. My husband talked me into the V6 - which I am glad now that I did buy. The only thing with the V6 is if I get on it - the gas mileage goes down. This will not be my only Camry I will ever own. This is the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Oldie but young in miles - 2000 Toyota Camry

Best in its class - 2000 Toyota Camry
By jekir - November 28 - 10:00 amThis is simply the best mid size 4 door car for the money. I travel alot and get approx. 30 mpg w. a 6 cyl. Seats arent very comfortable but car handles great w/ a smooth ride. No problems except original tires wore out quickly and local Dallas dealership was a jerk. Wont buy from them again.

Great Car - 2000 Toyota Camry
By Ryan - November 10 - 8:03 amMy Camry LE has been extremely reliable. But then again, most Toyotas are. My Camry only has about 57k and I plan on going another 100k! Camry is fully loaded, has two-tone paint, leather seats, alloy wheels, sunroof, etc. Was my grandmothers car previously and was in perfect condition (save for a few typical scratches). Still looks like new on the inside, but the quality of the paint isnt as good as I thought. Needs to be cleaned really well to restore the original shine; but then again, it is a 7 year old car. Overall, have been very satisfied with the car. The only problems I have would be with the seats. On long drives they can become uncomfortable.

By Sandra Gums - October 16 - 10:00 amThe Toyota Camry is a very nice and is a very reliable to drive. The gas consumation is good. I only wish that the interior came standard with more comfortable seats (Lumbar etc.), also when you adjust the seat (manuel) the seats dont rise very far so I have to use a pillow so I can see over the steering wheel. Other than that the car is excellent.

A good car - 2000 Toyota Camry
By cherry-kun - October 12 - 2:00 amMy parents bought this car certified/used at around 30,000 miles or so because I needed a car for college. As a car enthusiast I was disappointed at first for not getting a sportier car but having this car for a while made me like it, because I rarely had any problems with it. So far after driving this car for about two years the only problem I had was an engine check light coming on, which turned out to be false, I believe. The standard stereo sounds all right. Highway ride had some noticeable tire noise when I had Potenzas but was better when I swtiched to some Michelin Pilots. Overall in many respects a pleasurable car to own.

On reliable car - 2000 Toyota Camry
By Anonymous - September 18 - 12:22 amI got the car when it had 77k on it. Seven years later and 30k miles on it, it still is running. Other than the exterior (which rusted near the wheel arch, bottom of the car, and door frame) the car runs smooth. When I first got the car, it had an alternator problem two months later. Then the brake pads needed to be replaced at around 89k. Around 90k, the AC went out as it had a leak. Replaced it for $600 and the problem wasnt solved. Then the timing belt and water pump needed to be replaced. Gasket seal for the transmission pan at 98k, followed by an exhaust system replacement at 100k. Then finally the spark plugs had to be replaced even though it was replaced less than two years ago. Seems like the original spark plug that came with the car was superior than the one bought at Advanced Auto Part.

Great certified used car - 2000 Toyota Camry
By NLS - September 17 - 10:00 amThis car is comfortable to ride in and quiet. As a short driver I can reach pedals comfortably and have good visibility. Taller drivers are also comfortable. Lots of room in the back seat, and the trunk is roomy. Decent radio & cd player too. This car is pleasant to drive, I look forward to getting into it.

Good basic transportation - 2000 Toyota Camry
By jcd - September 3 - 10:00 amMy Camry LE, 4 cylinder is driven primarily in town with an occasional road trip thrown in. The car runs without a hitch and gets great gas mileage. I average 20 mpg (city) while highway averages 32 mpg. The powertrain warranty is 5 year/60K miles. Its not an exciting car to drive, but I didnt buy it for "fun" factor. The ergonomics of the dash are great, I can reach for anything without even looking for it. The car seats four comfortably, Ive never had five people in it. The trunk is accommodating and can be extended into the backseat. Because of Camrys reliability (I drove my 93 LE, 4 cylinder 183,000 miles!), Im sure Ill have this car for a VERY long time.

A car that keeps going - 2000 Toyota Camry
By Deon - August 31 - 11:46 pmI have driven many cars in my lifetime, was a valet, rented couple and friends and families cars, this car is the best. I have 171000 miles on it now and it runs like I first got it. I have been getting regular oil changes, 2 tie rods changed, a new water pump belts and hoses, shocks installed a rear window regulator, spark plugs, door handles, and alloy wheel. Never had to work on the A/C, I live in FL where the a/c is on every time I drive. The cost of ownership is very low. Great car, smooth and quiet. It has carted food, homeless people, pastors, druggies, kids, and trash. I have pulled a Jeep out of the ditch with it, been in mud pits, camping and off-road and it always does the job.
