This Year's Model Updates:

The 2000 Toyota Camry sedan receives minor updates. The exterior benefits from new front and rear styling. Camry LE models get 15-inch tires with new wheel covers while the XLE gets standard 16-inch tires. Four-cylinder models make three more horsepower than last year. Interior upgrades include an available JBL premium audio system, automatic climate control, larger buttons on the audio faceplate, imitation wood trim on XLE models, optional leather seats with driver-side power on LE models and new LE model seat fabric. The hood is now supported with struts and dampers.

Pros:
  • Toyota reliability, updated looks, optional V6 power.
Cons:
  • Luxury options quickly jack up price, uncomfortable seats.

Fantastic car. I have had it for a little over two years and it was my mothers car for 5 years before me. It had a new battery put in last year and a few months later the timing belt and water pump were replaced. Also gets great gas mileage about 34 mpg at 70 mph. This car is great, reliable, and very safe.

  • Piece of Toyota Junk - 2000 Toyota Camry

This car is the worst piece of junk Ive ever owned...and I had an 87 Ford Escort. The check engine light is on every other week, the car began burning oil at 40K miles (after regularly changing the oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles). The car has also had a leftward pull while driving since day one. The Toyota dealers I contacted all state that this is normal! Check the internet and youll see numerous complaints about the same leftward pull. Add to this the fact that the car is severely underpowered and handles like a go cart. What a waste. To call it a piece of junk assumes that the car has a purpose and is an insult to junk everywhere!

  • Toyota Reliability. Not This One. - 2000 Toyota Camry

Bought the car used with about 13,000 miles on it. Regular oil changes and routine maintenance. Had 2 power window motors give out - expensive! Then at 91,000 miles, a connecting rod broke. Leaves us with a totaled Camry that we thought would last for another 100K miles. Toyota USA refused any help with repairs. Last Toyota Ill own.

Excellent driving. Interior fixtures could be better (i.e. placement of fuel door and trujnk opener) should have been redesigned. Havehad toyotas since 1987.. Wheel can obstruct gauges on dashboard. In all my toyotas I have experienced replacement of front brakes at between 13,000 to 15,000. Ca r cannotr hold its weight on freeway goiing over 50 mph . Could be car is a 40cylinder.

Great Car! Extremely Reliable. Best performance for someone who puts alot of miles on car. Now have 75,000 miles on car with no major repairs. Put new brakes, tires and shocks/struts on car recently. Rides and performs great.

Great compromise between price, fuel economy. reliability, comfort and safety. 160,000 miles so far and only routine maintenance except for a broken door handle.

  • Most reliable car ever! - 2000 Toyota Camry

I have a 2000 Toyota Camry ce automatic. It has been absolutely amazing, the acceleration is great and the speakers are really bass heavy and prime. Its also comfortable and easy to drive. This is one of the most reliable cars ever. You will almost never need any maintenance issues. Its also super practical because of its big trunk. If you have an opportunity to get one you should do it, you will not be disappointed.

Our second Camry. 1st one went over 160K before we sold it. This one is a fine example of the top engineering and materials that Toyota puts into their cars. Dont be tempted by those low priced GM cars. You get what you pay for.

I live in Atlanta and spend an average of 2 hours in the care commuting to work. I use to hate it but now that Ive got this care, its a piece of cake. The stereo system is great, got a 6 cd changer. The car handles well, pick up is good and stopping isnt a problem. Front and side airbags for protection, track control, leather interior, moon roof and wood grain dash. Its got a very stylish look with the rear spoiler and mud flaps. Love this car!
