The Avalon has been redesigned for 2005 and now offers a more powerful V6 and even more room than before.

Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin befitting a Lexus, powerful and smooth V6 engine, superb ride quality, huge rear seat.
Cons:
  • Not as much fun to drive as a Chrysler 300, stability control can only be had on top-rung models.

  • Best car I have ever owned - 2005 Toyota Avalon

I have purchased a new car ever 2 to 3 years since 1974, and this is the best one yet. The cost was a little bit more than I usually spend, but I feel it was well worth it. It handles great, has a great appearance inside and out. Everthing is at your finger tips, you dont have to reach around for things. There is only one thing that I would change; there is not a good place to put your cell phone or to charge it while driving. Other than that I would not change a thing.

After 54 years of marriage, and ownership of at least 13 cars, this is the first one that my wife truly loves!

  • This car is ridiculous! - 2005 Toyota Avalon

Comfortable, fast, luxurious, flashy but not cop drawing flashy, great mpg for its size and speed. I researched every major make and model on the web and test drove about 10 different vehicles. so many cars looked amazing on the websites but driving them was not pleasing. for instance, the nissan maxima-you cant see out the back window and the interior (which looks unbelievable on the website) was all cheap and flims plastic. the avalon looked better than it did on the website. all my friends say "i thought that was a mercedes-i cant believe its a toyota!" incredible car-best decision i ever made.

Have only driven GM & Ford for last 30 years but saw the new Avalon & had to give it a look. Considered 05 STS, & 300 Ltd but wanted a large back seat and couldnt get past Chryslers reliability rep. Only 500 mi on Avalon but love all the features (have all but remote start). Very comfortable and is beautiful inside & out. No quality issues and gets 25mpg in 50/50 of freeway & stop n go on my daily commute. Ride is great. My sisters ES330 comes off lease 3/06 & she says she is going to get an Avolon just like mine.

  • Excellent! - 2005 Toyota Avalon

Ive owned Avalons since 1995. For the money, its the best car made. The difference between the Avalon and the Lexus 430 is $30,000, but the qualitys the same. Ive never figured out why Toyota doesnt push it more.

  • A great buy - 2005 Toyota Avalon

After researching Chrysler 300, Lexus, Cadillac and Mercedes I kept coming back to the 2005 Avalon and I have not been disappointed. On long drives I get 32-34 mpg (regular fuel). 24-27 round town. A/C and heated seats are real nice. Guests have vry favorable comments on the all the room and comfort in the back seat. The one negative is a "dirty socks" smell that sometimes comes out of the air conditioner (mold?). Have taken to dealer and they sprayed it but to no avail.

  • Love it! - 2005 Toyota Avalon

After three weeks, this has been my best new car experience. I am very pleased with the car. It compares favorably to an Audi A6 I drove recently, and is roughly two thirds the price.

  • Best Car Toyota Has Ever Made - 2005 Toyota Avalon
    By -

I purchased the new 2005 Avalon Limited. It is by far the nicest vehicle Toyota has ever produced. Ive owned a Camry and an Avalon previously, but this is practically a Lexus without paying the premium price. It reeks of luxury, comfort, and performance. The engine is much more powerful than my old Avalon, and the car is bigger inside. The car has all the bells and whistles one could possibly need, from the smart key entry, to remote starter, to XM Radio, to 6-Disc CD Changer, to laser cruise, to navigation, to even ventillated and heated from seats and reclinable rear seats. All in all, I feel like I stole this car. I got a Lexus or a Benz and paid half as much.

  • Delightful Surprise - 2005 Toyota Avalon

I traded a 2004 Lexus ES 330 on the 2005 Avalon. The Avalon is larger, more powerful, and is demonstrating better fuel economy; without a doubt, its considerably faster. The Avalon is much more comfortable than the Lexus in both ride quality and seating. In my opinion, youre paying less money and getting more value. Also, you continue to be spoiled by Toyotas bullet-proof quality, whats not to like?
