Overview & Reviews
The Avalon has been redesigned for 2005 and now offers a more powerful V6 and even more room than before.
- Carefully constructed cabin befitting a Lexus, powerful and smooth V6 engine, superb ride quality, huge rear seat.
- Not as much fun to drive as a Chrysler 300, stability control can only be had on top-rung models.

Avalon love - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By kathe - April 28 - 7:53 amThis is my 3rd Avalon & they just keep getting better & better--BUT, going with the nav system in the 05, lost my ability to have a trip "time" function which I miss--also not sure I like the automatic oor "unlock" when the ignition is off -- I felt a little safer when I had the ability to unlock manually when I stopped and turned off the ignition

Pure Luxury - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By M. Hudoba - April 26 - 1:00 pmHad a 2000 Avalon and it was perfect. Waited for new style to come out and so glad I did. The interior is soooo plush and luxurious. Very similar to the Lexus but much cheaper. Have all the buttons including navigation system. Best feature is starting the car without the keys by using push button. Same for trunk. They really seemed to have put alot of thought into this car. Also impressed with Toyota following up with surveys on our satisfaction with the vehicle. This is how they can improve something--not that they need to. I have a 22 year old son that you would think this car would not appeal to him--but he talks about it all the time to his friends. A+ for Toyota Avalon.

Love My Avalon - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Reggie Young - April 14 - 3:23 amI have been a Toyota lover for years because they last forever. But I have not loved a car like this since my Celica I bought in 1982.This car has everything and is a joy to drive, comfort level is excellent, design is absolutely great, quiet ride, I can not say enough to express how much I love this car.

2005 Avalon....wow - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Mark - February 27 - 2:06 amToyota has hit the mark with this sport/luxury vehicle. The 280HP V-6 is very powerful and the tuned front suspension has all but eliminated the torque steer common with high powered front wheel drive cars. The Touring Edition handles like a dream. The interior is beautiful, extremely comfortable and very ergonomic. If you are thinking about a Lexus GS, Infiniti M or any other sport/luxury car, you must drive the 2005 Avalon before you make that decision. Amazing.

A delight to drive - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Dave Nars - February 22 - 4:10 amI have been impressd with the ride, handling comfort of this car. I have been only running premium no lead however I am getting a combined 26 mpg. If you are a do it yourselfer the oil can be a bit of a pain to change unless you have your own lift.

Best Car Yet - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By GB - February 19 - 7:10 amOutstanding car. Was also looking at Cadillac but came across Avalon by chance. Took 1 test drive and never looked back. Great power, very roomy (including back seats) and spectacular dash design. Push-button start and door locks are best idea since the Model T. I will never go back to a "key" car again. Absolutely the best luxury car value on the market.

2005 Avalon - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By CymJym - February 18 - 9:46 pmThe 2005 Avalon is a much better car than the 1996 Avalon it replaced. Really love the new engine with 280 hp but I need to ease up on my right foot to get better mileage. It has been interesting to see the realtime miles- per-gallon and how driving in stop-and- go traffic reduces the average mpg.
