This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
Cons:
  • Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

It is one of the nicest driving, and riding cars I have ever owned. I am more than pleased with it.

She has a few dings and scratches and arm rest has a tear in it from my elbow over the years. The car has never been in the shop except for oil changes every 3000 miles, new skins, breaks and the recommended maintenance checkups. She runs like a champ!

  • Best Car I Ever Bought - 2006 Toyota Avalon

This is the first Toyota product Ive ever owned. Im glad my first purchase was the 2006 Avalon Touring. This car has excellent styling and comfort to match. Im 67" tall and I fit comfortably behind the wheel. It is hard to find a car to fit my height, but with the Avalon I can now enjoy my ride. If you are in the market to purchase a car let me tell you, this car has it all, and for a good price. Im a true fan!!

I bought this car thinking I needed the extra room for my growing family. Ended up being the worst car purchase I have made. A car this expensive should not have the squeaks and rattles that it does and it seems a new one pops up every week. I also hate how the maintenance light comes on every 5000 miles. The paint is also horrible - it chips off the front very easily. I just purchased an Acura TL to replace my Avalon which is what I should have bought to begin with. I will not miss seeing this car in my garage.

  • I should have looked elsewhere - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Not a very impressive car for $35,500. Loud, and more problems as the miles add up. I had a Corolla back in college (thirty years ago) that I really liked but this one leaves me very cold.

  • Great Car - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I love everything about this car. It is comfortable, roomy, powerful, fun to drive and safe above all. Everyone who rides in it comments on how comfortable it is and how roomy it is. Gas mileage is as good as you could expect with a 6 cylinder coming close to 30 on the highway with cruise control. Not bad. I would recommend this car to anyone who loves luxury at a reasonable price.

  • Best Out There For The Money - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I think this car is fantastic. I never thought I would own an Avalon, as I like really big luxury cars. This has met all my expectations. One thing I do not like is on the less expensive touring model you get HID headlamps, on the more expensive XLS, you dont! What were they thinking, for this price range almost $37,000 loaded how can you not give HID bulbs!

  • We LOVE our NEW USED Avalon - 2006 Toyota Avalon

We have always had great experiences with Toyota Avalons. My husband drove our last Avalon for years with minimal service required. We recently just purchased another used Avalon 2006 Limited without any hesitation. High quality, affordable, and it was nice to know that the value of the car did not depreciate as soon as we drove it off the lot (like other brands).

Hard to beat for the price. Awesome power for a V6 with great highway mileage. Handles very well on snow & ice (equipped w/traction control).

  • The XLS is a great car! - 2006 Toyota Avalon

The 2006 Avalon is a great car. I test drove many cars before making my decision to purchase the Avalon. I was looking for a larger car, with a more upscale and sophisticated appeal that was under $30,000. My Avalon XLS has it all: Leather seats, JBL Synthesis (booming) sound system, sunroof, sequential shifting, spacious interior, dual power seats, v6, excellent fuel consumption, clean looking dash board thats not cluttered and reclining rear seats. This car also has exceptional speed. If youre not careful, youll be at 100 mph without knowing it. Nice handling for a large car. Sequential shifting really allows one to move quickly.
