Overview & Reviews
For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.
- Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
- Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

Sun visors - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By john - September 5 - 10:43 amI love this car. There are two things I would like changed, mirrors that retract and an extension on the sunvisor to use on the drivers door side. The car runs great, the ride is very comfortable, and the gas mileage is great considering its size and power. The pickup is unbelievable.

Touring Delight - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Sailor - September 2 - 11:43 pmI am very impressed with the MPG on this large car. My first highway trip gave me an MPG of 32. My wife loves and power and roominess. I added chrome wheels to my Black Touring Avalon (the standard Touring wheels would be fine if chrome instead of grey) and get plenty of positive comments. The standard sound system equals the Bose system in my other vehicle.

I love my Avalon XLS! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Gwen - August 18 - 9:33 pmThis is the first time that I have owned this type of vehicle. It is a lot of fun to drive, climate controls are easy to read, the vehicle handles well on the road. Engine acceleration is quick to respond. The JBL system with 12 speakers gives you that luxurious sound and feeling. No mechanical problems to date. I really enjoy driving this vehicle.

The Avalon - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Lenny - August 16 - 6:00 pmOne week after buying my Avalon, I had to drive 5 1/2 hrs to attend a funeral. I found the Avalon to be a wonderful car to drive on a highway. The feel of the road, the gas consumption and the comfort of the seats were far above my expectations. I have broken my back once and neck twice and just had my R shoulder replaced and I was able to adjust my seat for total comfort. Im looking forward to another trip.

Avalon Ltd. 3.5 Years Later - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Steve Coleman - August 8 - 10:53 amI have been surprised by this car. Good - Excellent fuel mileage (25 city, 30-31 hwy), comfort, luxury looks and feel. Bad - Intermediate steering shaft problem (outside wrty at 45K mi., transmission jerkiness (fixed by toyo with a reprogramming, $0), $900 repair est. (I declined to fix), check engine lite (50k mi, $1500 repair bill), now the poss. oil line leak repair before failure (repair cost unk.?). Also, watch out for dealers selling Toyota warranties that are not favorably received by other dealer in other states (SE Toyo dealers vs Midwest dealers).

Best kept secret in luxury sedans - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By jwoodruff - August 3 - 1:13 pmThis is our 4th Toyota in the past 2 years. All have been extremely dependable, just routine oil changes, get great gas mileage, and I think, some of the best looking cars on the road. Also, the interiors of all the cars are beautiful and functional. This is an important part of my car buying requirements. Im a true blue American, but nobody beats the quality of the Toyota products.

Lexus w/o the price tag - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Paul - June 11 - 12:23 pmThe new avalon hits the mark of serious comfort and sports car. The new v6 has exceptional power. The interior design w/ computer display along with the hide-a-way stereo, cup, and cassette player just adds more of sleekness. The dual exhaust just says "come on and try to pass me"! The mpg is another big hit. You get a high powered 268 horse pwr engine that gets 32 mpg. Not to mention it only takes regular unleaded gas. In this day in age where gas prices are more than $2.15 a gallon that is a real perk. If you like luxury w/o the big price tag this is a car you cant go wrong with. Its also healthy to say the Avalon retains its value whole the better than other cars in the same market.
