This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
Cons:
  • Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

  • Never thought I would buy an Avalon, WOW - 2006 Toyota Avalon

The WOW is for the car itself. Did my research and found this car worth a look see! lol, wow, what a car! Definitely pure luxury, I think it was better than the Lexus. I figured they know what they are talking about. Not a cheap car either, but well worth it. Got the XLS, completely loaded.

It is one of the nicest driving, and riding cars I have ever owned. I am more than pleased with it.

  • Best Car I Ever Bought - 2006 Toyota Avalon

This is the first Toyota product Ive ever owned. Im glad my first purchase was the 2006 Avalon Touring. This car has excellent styling and comfort to match. Im 67" tall and I fit comfortably behind the wheel. It is hard to find a car to fit my height, but with the Avalon I can now enjoy my ride. If you are in the market to purchase a car let me tell you, this car has it all, and for a good price. Im a true fan!!

  • Great Car - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I love everything about this car. It is comfortable, roomy, powerful, fun to drive and safe above all. Everyone who rides in it comments on how comfortable it is and how roomy it is. Gas mileage is as good as you could expect with a 6 cylinder coming close to 30 on the highway with cruise control. Not bad. I would recommend this car to anyone who loves luxury at a reasonable price.

  • Best Out There For The Money - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I think this car is fantastic. I never thought I would own an Avalon, as I like really big luxury cars. This has met all my expectations. One thing I do not like is on the less expensive touring model you get HID headlamps, on the more expensive XLS, you dont! What were they thinking, for this price range almost $37,000 loaded how can you not give HID bulbs!

  • We LOVE our NEW USED Avalon - 2006 Toyota Avalon
    By -

We have always had great experiences with Toyota Avalons. My husband drove our last Avalon for years with minimal service required. We recently just purchased another used Avalon 2006 Limited without any hesitation. High quality, affordable, and it was nice to know that the value of the car did not depreciate as soon as we drove it off the lot (like other brands).

Hard to beat for the price. Awesome power for a V6 with great highway mileage. Handles very well on snow & ice (equipped w/traction control).

  • The XLS is a great car! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
    By -

The 2006 Avalon is a great car. I test drove many cars before making my decision to purchase the Avalon. I was looking for a larger car, with a more upscale and sophisticated appeal that was under $30,000. My Avalon XLS has it all: Leather seats, JBL Synthesis (booming) sound system, sunroof, sequential shifting, spacious interior, dual power seats, v6, excellent fuel consumption, clean looking dash board thats not cluttered and reclining rear seats. This car also has exceptional speed. If youre not careful, youll be at 100 mph without knowing it. Nice handling for a large car. Sequential shifting really allows one to move quickly.

  • Oil leak...Just happened - 2006 Toyota Avalon
    By -

Got ready to drive away from driveway and looked back to see all the oil drained out of my car. Its Sunday and will have to wait until tomorrow to see what the dealership will do for me. Out of warranty and hope the recall will cover repair. Wish me luck!

  • Cadillac to Toyota--Was I nuts? - 2006 Toyota Avalon
    By -

This is my first Toyota. I gave considerable thought in the purchase of this vehicle after 20 years as a Cadillac owner. So far my Avalon Limited is 100% perfect. If it meets it reputation as a solid, dependable and fun car it wont be my last, I hope. My wife especially likes the Smart Key and not having to look for the key in her purse. I believe she would rather drive this Toyota than her Corvette-- and that is saying a LOT! The GPS takes a lot of practice and study, but once you figure it out it is very good. It must have been designed by some foreigner. Its the little things that impress me the most like puddle lamps, reclining rear seats & heated and cooled seat
