This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
Cons:
  • Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

  • Great car - 2006 Toyota Avalon

We are so happy with our 2005 Avalon Limited. Traveling from AZ to ID we tracked 34 mpg at speeds up to 85mph with plenty of passing power at those speeds. The ride is Avalon all the way, smooth, quiet, and very comfortable. The Limiteds features are amazing as expected on this class of vehicle. Overall, a great car for all traveling needs, city or highway.

This is an after 2000 mile review to help you decide. I have found the mileage to max out about 27-28 but still not bad. I have the loaded 2006 Avalon in blizzard white. It does NEED the body side moldings or you find yourself parking away from things to protect it. Get the Nav system and the laser cruise control as they are very good. GREAT VALUE, FUN TO DRIVE...AND YES...I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN OVER ANYTHING ELSE!!! Just do it ...before it is too late...because we dont know how many days we are going to wake up!! :)

  • Cannot beat it! - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Purchased the Limited, could not be more happy. Ride, comfort, style, features, quality all cannot be beaten by anyone for the price. Love the keyless ignition, the a/c, stereo. We are only in our 30s and Toyota got us to buy it, the new styling, more room, and its a safe car. If you are in the market for an Avalon, you will most likely come across alot of people trying to put it down. There is good reason, Toyota has done it again, building a car that is above average, higher resale value, safer, and some really cool features that NO one else has. So yeah, its good to be the king.

  • What More Could You Ask for! - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Just picked up the XL in Silver Pine Mica for the wife. The quality and comfort are great! The only option we got were the 6 CD and the floor mats. But who could tell it was a base model with all the features for the price.

  • Avalon is a Lexus in Toyota clothing!! - 2006 Toyota Avalon

The Toyota Avalon XLS is a Lexus with a Toyota name. It is a smooth riding, comfortable, quiet, incredibly roomy car with an extremely luxurious interior design and a manageable price tag. It features the same engine as the new Lexus ES 350, a more interesting exterior design and a more spacious interior design. If you want a great luxury car and dont want to show off too much -- this is the one.

Bought this car in March. The more I drive the Avalon the more I like the car. I added the navigation system and put on mud guards and side moldings. Installed satellite radio which is heaven. No more ads.

I upgraded from a Camry to an Avalon and with two kids and husband there is plenty of room for all of us. When driving this car there is little or no road noise. I love it.

Original owner. Excellent condition. Avalon XlLE extras and reliability. Gets 28 MPG on highway, 24 in town. Regular maintenance. No accidents. Garaged car. Beautiful black car.

I just purchased the Avalon Limited (demo). It has everything (nav, adaptive cruise, custom bluetooth phone integration). Car is definitely worth thousands more. Not only are all components user friendly, the car gets great attention on the road. One complaint is the cheap appearance of the radio and interior plastic.

  • Pleased With My First Toyota - 2006 Toyota Avalon
    By -

My first Toyota and Im very pleased with this car. Lots of upgrades and gadgets make this a fun car to drive and show off. Was considering Lexus IS, but back seat, even though I dont use a lot, was too small to compromise. Others: Chrysler 300 and Cadi CTS just didnt have all the extras for such a great price. Gas mileage first 2000 miles is 25-27 combined and 33 straight highway. Accelerates nicely/brakes well. Nav system is fun and useful, but the toggle/select button makes it so frustrating. Laser cruise control is the best feature. Keyless entry/start is beneficial as well as fun to demonstrate. Seats are hard and Id do without the vent/heat to soften them up (if given the choice).
