Overview & Reviews
For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.
- Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
- Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

Best buy! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Toyota driver - December 14 - 7:03 amI purchased my used 2003 Toyota Avalon several months ago. My family and I took a road trip from San Diego, California to New York City. Before purchase, I tested several other competing vehicles. The Avalon was the best car in terms of comfort and reliability. I am thrilled with the vehicle. I am thrilled with my new Avalon.

First Time Buyer of Non-American - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By quilter - December 8 - 2:23 amI debated whether to go with the Ford 500 or this. After driving both, there was no comparison, and although the XLS was significantly higher, I am glad I bought it. I have been a Ford/American car buyer for 35 years, and thought I would never change. But this car is super.

Toyota Delivers! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Jorge - December 5 - 8:56 amAs always, you can see and feel the oustanding workmanship in Toyota cars, and the redesigned Avalon is no exception. Great ride, both in comfort and road handling. Agree with the reviewer who said the luxury of a Lexus without the high price tag. The JBL 12 speaker sound system is impresive and so is the engine - 268 HP!, better than the 255 HP Maxima I replaced. Also, I cant believe this high horse power engine can be satisfied with regular unleaded gas. WOW! Talk about efficiency and good MPG.

All you need to do is change the emblem! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Stan Tomberg - November 27 - 12:20 pmIf you remove the Toyota emblems and replaced them with Lexus IDs no one would notice! The steering wheel is identical to my friends Lexus LS. The back seat is larger. It as close to a Lexus LS that I had, than any other car I have been in. The gas mileage is great, especially for a car this size. 33 mpg hiway, 23 in town and on regular gas! I did not buy this car for economy but, for comfort and style. A bargain at the price. Compares favorably with cars costing under $50,000

Love this car - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Bob - November 12 - 1:30 pmThis is the most powerful car I have ever owned. I had a bunch of 1966 v8 mustangs but this car would blow them away. The JBL system is awesome, the ride (xls) is very good and the car looks very good as well. Bought a leftover 2006.

Great Car - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By chris - October 15 - 2:00 amI am in outside sales. I drive about 45000 miles a year and this is a great car. Toyota has been very helpful also. I had the oil on the ground problem, will happen to every Avalon, and Toyota fixed it for free even though I was out of warranty. The gas mileage is great and the resale is great. With 110000 miles on the car right now the resale is still above 15000 (exceptional) would recommend to anyone and will purchase another.

Great Car - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Larry - September 26 - 8:43 amJust picked up our Avalon Limited 2006. It had 44 miles on it and we got a good deal, $500 over invoice, no navsystem, didnt need it, but had the dealer put in XM radio, which we DID NEED! We live in boonies and regular radio reception is terrible. Love the feel and roominess. The faux wood trim in car makes it seem elegant. The car is extremely quiet and the sound system is awesome. Had to get used to not having a key and starting the car by pushing a button. The car is insulated from any rode noise and the ride is exceptionally smooth. We bought the car because of Toyota reliablity, roominess, and handling. Of course the price was right.

Best car on the road - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By E.C. Newell - September 9 - 11:46 pmWe enjoy this car so much. It is the best car we have driven. We are not young people (in our 70s). We have driven GM cars for years, then switched to Toyota, what a difference. This is our 5th Toyota Avalon, (new) and we have one 1996 that my husband drives that he bought used. So we have driven 5 new ones and one used on making six, so you know we are happy with Toyota.

After 8K miles review - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Jorge - August 28 - 10:30 amBought in Jan 06 and have logged 8,000 miles. Car still performing great. The MPG is incredible! Averging 26 mi. city and just under 31 mi. highway, and the best things is it takes regular unleaded (87 octane). Smooth and quiet ride on the highway. You have to be carefull with the smooth ride though, if not paying attention you can be flying at low altitude and not know it (until the cops stop you!) Very happy with the car up to now - just barely broken in!
