This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.

Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
Cons:
  • Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

  • A comfortable powerful cruiser - 2006 Toyota Avalon

A very comfortable highway cruiser with good safety features and gas mileage. We love this car for its space, comfort level driving ease. Long trips are much less tedious than in the old (1997) Intrepid although it is a nice car it is not near the equal of this new Avalon.

Very comfortable ride, quiet, controls are excellent (size-shape).

  • Avalon 2006 XLS - 2006 Toyota Avalon

The car is very quiet, handles well, no strange noises or anything disturbing. The only concern is the trip range that sometimes would not adjust when tank is filed.

  • Super Auto - 2006 Toyota Avalon

The best vehicle I have owned during the past forty years. Great style, ride, and all around super auto. I have over 16K on it without any problems to date. Has excellent power, but still has decent gas mileage.

  • I never give 10s - 2006 Toyota Avalon

This is the smoothist car Ive ever driven. Its fast, quick and very responsive. The nav system is a bit hard to figure out, but once you do its great. Ive had no problems at all in my first year and no regrets. This is the first "import" Ive ever bought. I had a near "hit" on the GSP. The car handled better than I ever imagined.

  • Our 06 XLS - 2006 Toyota Avalon

We are completely impressed with our XLS, it is truly the vehicle for us, the overall performance of the powertrain is superb, we broke it right in with a 2,500 mile trip right after taking delivery of it & it performed "second to none". We are very satisfied with all aspects of the vehicle for the price paid. Who needs a Lexus when the Avalon is available!!

  • Avalon Review - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Best car I have ever owned. Very comfortable, gobs of room, and lots of high tech stuff. In effect it is the makings of a Lexus LS 430 at about half the cost without all the flash. Same people make it and it gets better MPG, uses regular gas, and is only 10 horsepower less. Unless you have money to burn, get this car not an LS. (Although if I had money to burn I would consider the LS.)

  • Definitely worth the money - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Only 2000 miles on the car (XLS) thus far, but Im extremely happy with it. Even the standard XLS stereo (not the JBL) w/nine speakers sounds VERY good - NO distortion. Comfortable drivers seat. LOTS of room for rear-seat passengers. Smooth, quiet ride. Feels like Im going 60 MPH on the freeway, but when I look at the speedometer, Im surprised to see 80 MPH on the dial. This car flies on the freeway.

  • excellent...Proud to OWN and drive! - 2006 Toyota Avalon

This is an exceptional car, and being in Real Estate it serves all my needs and my clients comfort. Less money than the other luxury cars w/ more bells and whistles. Everyone is so impressed and knows the true "value" of a great car is hard to find. The leg room in the back is awesome, the GPS system easy to view, the a/c in the seats a real comfort, and there is only one thing I would have liked as an otion and that is the bluetooth feature... other than that I will never own another car other than the Avalon. It IS CLASS!

  • Nice to drive - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I shopped the Buick Lacerne and the Avalon. The body style was the final draw to purchase the Avalon. It is a pleasure to drive plenty of power and comfort. Local milage has been 191/2 local and road 27 to 28 miles to a gallon at 70 to 75 miles per hour.People stop an say what a great looking car it is.My other car is a Lincoln continental the Avalon ride is as good.
