Overview & Reviews
For the 2006 Toyota Avalon, the availability of stability control has been expanded to include the XL and Touring trim levels. Keyless startup is now standard, rather than optional, on the Limited.
- Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
- Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

Noisy - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By Durangokid - April 25 - 8:00 pmFor a Car in this price range the ride is too firm and the wind noise is high at highway speeds. Also the car is jerky and not very smooth at takeoff.

06 Avalon - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By ddwalkman - April 19 - 7:23 amOne minor mechanical imperfection, so far. One flip out component of the consol controls does not function properly. Front end design is like 90% of the other new model cars. I suppose this an aerodynamic consideration. Rear end design is outstanding. Trunk space is minimal compared to other full size sedans.

May be the best sedan for the price . . - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By brown3 - April 4 - 9:40 amThough other automakers may offer a model that beats the Avalon in one or two areas, taken as a whole, factoring in power, ergonomics, features, build quality, reputation for reliability, and fuel economy, this may well be the BEST 4-door sedan under $35,000 on the market. (A Lexus 430 is better, but though its pushing twice the price its not nearly twice the car.) As to my actual experience, there was a little jerkiness in the shifting initially, but by 1500 miles it had smoothed out to near CVT levels. Im getting 25+ mpg on regular gas in what Id term hill country suburban driving, excellent for a sedan with performance rivaling what passed for a muscle car in the late 70s.

Great car - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By D Biggs - April 4 - 7:10 amThis vehicle drives like a dream. I found it to be a superior ride to the Lexus ES 330. Features abound for the money. Just wish the cooled leather seats had come with this model as the weather here is extremely humid. Though the Limited model had this feature, it was a little too expensive as outfitted and had a number of features I personally did not require.

I love this car!! - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By diana - March 25 - 7:26 pmThis is a great car for the price. Lexus quality for Toyota price. Would recommend this car to anyone. I have three small children (all under 7) and two are in full sized carseats. My youngest cant even kick the back of my seat while strapped in. Huge back seat and great trunk space. Full sized double stroller along with groceries fit just fine. And what can I say, it has Toyota mileage averaging 22 in the city and 33 on the interstate. Classy interior and a trustworthy ride, I would recommend this car to my best of friends.

Broken Front Coil Spring - 2006 Toyota Avalon
By sonnyjames - March 19 - 2:29 pmMy 2006 Avalon hit a small dip in the road and the right front coil spring snapped (thankfully at the very bottom) . I removed the broken part and was disappointed to find out it is a very light weight spring and looks like & feels like it was made out of pot metal. And my Platinum Extended Warranty (that I never used and cost me an extra 1K) is over the time limit. Car has 94K and we bought it new. As far as Toyota Service goes they have been a disappointment , they try and get a person to have expensive un-needed work done on their vehicles . I will call Toyota in the A:M and plead my case. Anyone else have this happen? if not beware these coil springs are junk.
