Pros:
  • Carefully constructed cabin worthy of the Lexus name, powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, serene ride quality, huge rear seat, numerous upscale amenities.
Cons:
  • Refined nature leaves little room for personality, rear seats do not fold.

This model avalon is one of the finest quality autos I have ever had the pleasure to own.this is based on at least 20 previous autos. It responds excellent on the highways as well as city driving. The navigation feature is certainly a plus and fun to use. You are surrounded with safety features which contribute to a comfortable ride.

Avalon is amazing. Where else can you get a full size luxury sedan, with V6 280 ponies, yet gets 31 MPG? No where else but Avalon. Its like riding around in your living room while sitting in your favorite recliner. Only thing missing is the 58-inch plasma. JBL stereo pumps, top of dash layout is a throwback of the 1970s (which I personally love), yet console is very modern/elegant. Car lifts up, takes off, as quiet as a sleeping baby. Buttons nicely placed, awesome visibility, adequate handling, elegant front/rear design. This car will never annoy you, and youll arrive calm and relaxed. Avalon makes daily work commuting one of the highlights of my day. Alot of car for $30K, unmatched.

I had a hard time finding a blizzard white Avalon XL. After working on it for about a month I got my 2006 Avalon. I love the ride and the interior. Its very roomy and it has a lot of power. Overall I love the car. Its quiet and I love the dashboard with the technology. I had great experience with our prior Toyotas. Even my 20 year old daughter loves to drive this car.

  • Happy despite initial problem - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Have read a number of reviews on this car. Some related a noisy engine, mine sounded like a diesel all of a sudden at 1500 miles. The dealership told me they had never had this problem before. They were extremely accommodating, replacing the engine without a second thought. They provided a brand new car as a loaner and treated us very well. Since the new engine the car runs very well with little engine noise. The rest of the car is phenomenal. The car is a huge upgrade from our 1997 Avalon, for only a couple thousand more than we paid for the 97. It is definitely the most comfortable car I have driven. The Touring edition was worth getting with the upgrades in suspension. I would buy another.

So far so good. Car seems dependable but not without its problems. Fuel mileage is not as stated (less than what Toyota claims). Takes several attempts to open the cover for radio and Nav, (have to push the buttons numerous times to open the cover). Nav is difficult due to having to use the "Enter" button constantly, older models were more intuitive. Difficult to find garage opener buttons on rear view mirror at night since they are not illuminated (neither are the buttons for the rear shade, trunk and fuel cap). Needs body side molding desperately to prevent dings and dents!

This is a great auto that is as roomy as any ball room. And the gas mileage was better than advertised.

Put an L on the grill. This compares to the Lexus without the price!!! Gas mileage is terrific.

  • Amazed with this vehicle - 2006 Toyota Avalon

I had 3 requirements - A/C seats, GPS, Laser Cruise Control. Laser Cruise is awesome, drivers seat cushion extension is dynamite, voice activated GPS is too cool, smart key is superb, I am averaging 31.4 mpg at 75 mph with A/C on --- can you beat that ? Plus 280 hp, 0-60 in 6.5 secs, 15.0 second 1/4 mile - UNBEATABLE. The Blizzard Pearl White with Ivory leather is absolutely gorgeous, Ive had many compliments. Compare the interior dimensions on the new Avalon with ANYTHING out there and you will be sold. The A/C seats are superb and the 260 watt JBL stereo is outstanding.

  • Great comfortable car - 2006 Toyota Avalon

Bought the Avalon with 150,000 miles on it. Now has 205,000 & just routine maintenance battery, brakes, oil changes & tires. It rides as good as my Mothers cadillac dts. Very comfortable car for road trips or just city driving. I would highly recommend this car, after all its a Toyota, what more can I say - extremely dependable! Overall a classy luxury car for the young or young at heart.
