  • Better than I expected - 2002 Saturn VUE

Bought a Vue used with almost 40K miles on it and thought I would have to do some TLC before it was long trip worthy. Drove it from Pennsylvania to Ohio to Florida and back to Pennsylvania ( over 4000 miles driving the 1st 2 weeks ) and all I had to do was fill the gas tank and wash the windows. If it was a little bit more truck like I would get rid of my bigger SUV and take this to the cabin instead.

As a previous Saturn owner, I knew what I was getting. Yes, the interior is plasticky, but its a sport UTILITY vehicle. Most of the early problems seems to have been solve. No sqeaks or rattles. I got mine if black-silver, which looks great. Handling is very good for something this size. The engine is smooth, but a little loud when pushed. Are competing vehicles smoother and more refined. Yes. Would I consider another vehicle. NO!

  • Love It!!!! - 2002 Saturn VUE

I LOVE My Saturn! It has been very dependable & handles excellent! Other than Oil Changes, I had to replace the crank position sensor which was about $85 (A very popular problem in these vehicles) and Im about to change the sway bar links here pretty soon. (also another common problem in VUEs) I take great care of my VUE. Oil Changed every 3,000 with Mobil 5,000, Waxs, Mid-Grade Gas, I get about 24MPG, I love it and expect it to last another 75,000 or more!

  • Good solid SUV - 2002 Saturn VUE

I got the sport edition and really enjoy it for the most part. Its a four cylinder stick, but surprisingly peppy. Excellent fuel mileage considering its an SUV. Whats really neat is some of the features. I really like the ride and the new electronic steering (derives power electronically versus ol power steering off the engine). Resistance on the steering lowers with speed and once you get used to it, its pretty cool. Overall, I like it and would buy it again. The best thing about it though? The price! Less than $16 grand for power everything (including moonroof), ABS and AWD. Fantastic!

  • Great Car for the Money - 2002 Saturn VUE

I purchased the vehicle in May and since then Ive been extremely happy with the suv. I looked into several other competing vehicles (Ford Escape, Hyundai Santa Fe and the Honda CRV), but nothing really came close to the price. You get the best bang for you buck and the sales people were extremely helpful and friendly. I love the power, but on a quick take off it, the rpms rev up quite a bit. Overall I highly recommend the Vue especially since not to many people drive it since its new. Its a great feeling being the only Saturn Vue on the road when you see at least 10-15 CRVs and Escapes all over the place.

  • Unsure - 2002 Saturn VUE

Have owned the VUE for just over a year now. The front end squeeks and rattles over bumps, dealership replaced the front struts noise still there. Vue is going in again next week (for the 3rd time for same problem) Squeek in the rear when going over bumps, Rattle and vibration from front end over bumbs, Squeek in steering column when turning. Should be fixed next week as well (again)

  • Serious design flaw - 2002 Saturn VUE

I love the car, BUT the engineering department needs to come up with a fix - and fast for me- to the REALLY aggravating noises coming from the front struts. I have had the dealer "repair" them three times and, in the last instance, we had someone from Tenn. come up to look at the car. This is NOT an isolated problem, they have reported numerous cases of this noise. The "fix" entailed packing the "dry" strut housing with marine grease until the engineering department can come up with a permanent fix. I called Saturn USA and got the hear no evil....... Its a shame because other than that the car has performed flawlessly in the 9,000 miles I have put on in three months.

  • Worst Vehicle Ever Owned - 2002 Saturn VUE

The only good thing about this car is the looks. Performance is good when it works. From the beginning, this vehicle has been in the shop for numerous maintenance issues from suspension, to leaking antifreeze, and many other problems. This car is so poorly built that as soon as it was paid off, I took it the following day and dumped it. Maintenance costs are very high. Was quoted $400.00 to replace a faulty thermostat because much of the engine would have be be broken down to get to it. Same with changing the spark plugs. I will never purchase another Saturn again. To think I traded a low mileage Camry for this piece of junk! I guess we all make foolish mistakes. I now own a Toyota again!!!

  • A Fine SUV - 2002 Saturn VUE
    By -

A great suv for a small family. I live in northern Maine and the vehicle has worked flawlessly. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact suv with real world usefullness. I owned a 01 RAV4 prior to the VUE. The VUE is alot more usefull and alot tougher suv than the RAV every was!!
