  • Love/Hate relationship - 2002 Saturn VUE

Ive had the Vue for 3 yrs and enjoyed until it started having problems at 40k miles. Handles OK in snow. Was able to get up steep hill in 2 in snow with minimal slippage. Gets 19/26 mpg. Love the layout of trunk. Unfortunately needs work now. Hubs bad and thermostat went out last year. Work cheaper to get done by someone other than dealership. Loved it and hoped to own for several years until it started breaking down at so few miles. Wish it didnt have problems.

  • Nice ride but gas is expensive. - 2002 Saturn VUE

The get up and go is really nice, there is a bit of torque steering mech sais that is because the turning rad is so short. Braking, snow handeling, & highway is fine, engine is a bit raspy, the auto trans can be jumpy. The Gas mi is 14/16city 18/21hwy, over 5400 miles. My 1989 Montero did 19city 24hwy. My VUE is gold, I recieve alot of great comments.

I like the overall styling of the vue. It has a very comfortable ride and is fun to drive. I was surprised at the get up and go. the (2.2 liter 5sp manual) has plenty of power, I would recommened the saturn vue to anyone

This car has been a nightmare from the beginning. Seems like ever 3 months something strange and new goes wrong with this car. If I could afford it I would dump it today and buy anything else. Today my husband is coming back from a trip and just called me to say the check engine light came on, and it wont accelerate going up hills. Its okay on flat ground. What a mess, we have to go find another dealer.

One month after purchasing this car the engine light and wrench light came on. The DRLs will turn off and on randomly, the horn will come on randomly and wont shut off. Now the vehicle wont start. I shut it off at home and the next day it wouldnt start. This happened once before and I had to reset the security system and it worked, now nothing will work. I dont know what to do with this junk. Dont buy this car!!!

  • Horrible! - 2002 Saturn VUE

Worst car ever. After owning for 1 1/2 years, I have to get rid of it. Have is the key word. It died on the highway. Nobody can tell me specifically whats wrong with it because theres about 8 different things wrong with it. The engine is about to go. There are brake problems, engine problems, thermostat problems, etc. I regret getting this car-- its had problems since day one. No wonder Saturns out of business. The reliability of their cars are seemingly terrible.

  • The Vue is sweet! - 2002 Saturn VUE

Being the third Saturn in my family, I had great confidence in the new AWD V6 Vue. Hats off to Saturn for a great design with some unique features. The electric power steering is really smooth. Handling is excellent and the gas mileage is very reasonable. The cargo organizer is very useful for grocery shopping. The AWD is great on snowy roads. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

With close to 24000 miles of driving, both my wife and I are very satisfied with the VUE in all respects. Despite being a very early production car we took delivery of, we have had NO reliability problems save minor cosmetic items that were corrected with one dealer visit. Only complaint may be the V6 engine a little noisy on acceleration, but it is very quick and gas mileage averaging close to 22 mpg. SATURN dealer experience is great! Only if your accustomed to driving a crossover Lexus/Mercedes/Volvo/etc would you be disappointed (but its half the price). Jim

First off, Im a guy...not a soccer mom. ;) A very nice vehicle. I did not drive the four cylinder, so I have no feedback there. The V6 has a lot of get-up-and-go. Saturn has 8.4s for the 0-60 test. That is extremely modest. I like the exterior look, especially the orange (burnt cienna) at night. The interior is a little lacking. The cup holders are annoyingly low and the arm rests are too close to the body and low. I found a lot of people looking at me as if they had never seen something like it before. Obviously an overstatement, but Ive gotten a lot of good comments on it. If you havent experienced Saturn, try it out. Definitely the way to purchase a vehicle.
