I have had alot of mechanical problems, which I should not have for a two year old vehicle. It does handle very well and manuvers easily. It also does well in various weather conditions. The children can not see out of the back windows, even in booster seats. Overall I am very disappointed in the quality of this vehicle.

  • My VUE Experience...so far - 2002 Saturn VUE

I bought my 2003 AWD V6 VUE in late January. I loved the way the car looked and drove up until May when my temperature gauge began to read erratically. I immediately returned to the dealership, disgruntled and dissatisfied that my brand new car with 3,000 miles on it was already having problems. No one seemed to care about that at the dealership I purchased my car from, making me vow never to purchase another Saturn again nor to have my current Saturn serviced there again. Since then, no other problems have arisen and I am overall very satisfied with my purchase

No worries; no problems @ 40k miles. Electric assisted steering not perfected, but most wouldnt notice. Nibble handling for an SUV Box.

  • Never again - 2002 Saturn VUE

Will never buy this SUV again. I have owned several good quality automobiles, but the Saturn Vue turned out to be the nightmare of my life. Transmission has failed for the fourth time since I purchased this vehicle. Repairing it has not been helpful. This is the third winter I am riding the bus to work and still paying a note on this vehicle. The cost of the transmission is more than the vehicle is worth at this point and it seems like a bad investment anyway to pay that much for a transmission that has not been designed to hold up.

I feel that this vehicle is more of a sporty SUV than a luxury SUV. It would be nice of Saturn could make a smoother riding SUV such as the trailblazer, etc. You can feel every bump and hear every rattle. Road noise is very loud and when the wind blows it does not handle very well.

Our 4-cylinder CVT is unlike anything else you can buy anywhere. Truly distinctive styling and several very high tech features: CVT, electronic steering, high impact body panels make it unique. Hard to find anything that can hold as much and get mileage in the 20s. We see CR-Vs and RAVs every 30 seconds on the road. Love the Vue!

  • Love It!!!! - 2002 Saturn VUE

I LOVE My Saturn! It has been very dependable & handles excellent! Other than Oil Changes, I had to replace the crank position sensor which was about $85 (A very popular problem in these vehicles) and Im about to change the sway bar links here pretty soon. (also another common problem in VUEs) I take great care of my VUE. Oil Changed every 3,000 with Mobil 5,000, Waxs, Mid-Grade Gas, I get about 24MPG, I love it and expect it to last another 75,000 or more!

  • Good solid SUV - 2002 Saturn VUE

I got the sport edition and really enjoy it for the most part. Its a four cylinder stick, but surprisingly peppy. Excellent fuel mileage considering its an SUV. Whats really neat is some of the features. I really like the ride and the new electronic steering (derives power electronically versus ol power steering off the engine). Resistance on the steering lowers with speed and once you get used to it, its pretty cool. Overall, I like it and would buy it again. The best thing about it though? The price! Less than $16 grand for power everything (including moonroof), ABS and AWD. Fantastic!

Have owned the VUE for just over a year now. The front end squeeks and rattles over bumps, dealership replaced the front struts noise still there. Vue is going in again next week (for the 3rd time for same problem) Squeek in the rear when going over bumps, Rattle and vibration from front end over bumbs, Squeek in steering column when turning. Should be fixed next week as well (again)

  • vVery happy with this purchase - 2002 Saturn VUE

Our familly was growing, and we needed a larger car. We purchased the Saturn in June of 2002, and it is now May of 2007. I have never had it in the shop except for oil changes and tire changes of course. I still get about 28 mpg. There is plenty of room for three children and a large dog The trunk offers a grocery storage area. There are plenty of cup holders as well as leg room. The only change that I would make would be the comfort of the seats, as it seems to lack lumbar support.
