  I spend more money on repairing it, and time fighting about the warranty then I could ever imagine. I would never buy another one. I am not sure I would ever buy another Nissan.

  Light Light go away - 2001 Nissan Sentra

  A very good car overall, recently though Ive plaqued with a check engine light which the dealers mechanics say is a loose gas cap.. which I could have believed once... but 5 times!? Basically now a day or two after I fill up with gas, the light comes on and must be reset. This has been such a pain, Im seriously considering selling it. I dont have any complaints otherwise and its been solid mechanically other than that.

  u must buy the se 2.0, handles very well and fun to drive. this car is the most reliable car i ever had. i have 150,000 miles on it and didnt put more then 1000 dollars in it in 6 yrs

  79K and I still love it. i keep looking at new cars and still for the money you can not beat the 2001 Sentra SE. I reluctantly got the Automatic which kills the gas, but I still get 24/30 on a consistent basis and that is with running it hard on the Long Island Parkways. The worst thing on this car is the brakes...the best thing is the brakes...how does that work? They go after about 15-20k, but this car stops on a dime. Even in the wet and snow, I have not had a problem stoping the Sentra. But the cream of the crop when it comes to this car is why we all bough it...The SR20DE...this engine just keeps going. My Sentra has never once let me down...and low upkeep to boot.

  After 3 recalls and repairs, the A/C going out twice, the gas pedal continually sticking even a few thousand miles after it is repaired, passenger window sticking, the CD player being intermitant and the buttons coming off the radio....AAGGHH I think this car was made on a Monday.

  2001 Sentra GXE - 2001 Nissan Sentra

  I bought my Nissan Sentra GXE brand new in april of 2001, I was deciding between this and a Honda Civic, I made the mistake of choosing this car. Since then, Ive put about 28,000 miles on it, and it has been in the shop about 6 times. 3 times for recall, and 3 other time the car just broke down. The most recent trip to the dealer is the most outrageous experience ive ever had. The car would just stall in for no reason, and after leaving the car with the dealership for over a week, the dealership still cant figur out what is wrong with the car. Now Im getting rid of the car and planning to purchase an Accord, Camery or a Jetta soon.

  Good and reliable - 2001 Nissan Sentra

  Bought it with 12,600 on the ODO. Now has 95,200. Used Synthetic in it since I got it; engine runs great. Overall, Ive been very happy with it as a commuter car that does about 80-90 miles a day. The most major thing Ive had to do was the recent suspension upgrade where I replaced the stock struts/shocks/springs with something a little more sporting; this move totally transformed the car. The GXE was designed for comfort, not handling! The materials used in the interior are cheap (except dash) and show wear easily. Also, get the windows tinted as the sun fades seats/carpet. Nissan really skimped on the interior to save money, but its got good mechanicals and a solid chassis to work with.

  All it needs now is a turbo and the car will rock.. The performance is awesome great handling and good interior design. Se models are the best there is for sentras could care less about spec v and the rest. I havent gotten any problems with my car except when a small rock hit my windshield when I was behind a rig.

  Perfect daily/first car - 2001 Nissan Sentra

  This is my first car. I love it to death. Quick and understated, but it always turns a few heads. "Hey, what do you drive?" etc. A lot of fun and perfect for a daily driver, particularly for a young driver like myself. Quick, but not quick enough to get you into too much trouble. The suspension is incredible, handling is amazing, way more suspension than power, which is good for a young driver. Some boost -I have my plans there ;)- and this car would be perfect. Besides the God-awful tires, that is... Ditch the Firestones. Stock LSD is wonderful to have whenever youve got to get on it to get out into traffic. 00-01 SE> 02+ SE-R/Spec V
