Overview & Reviews
The Sentra has been completely overhauled for the 2000 model year. A better ride, more powerful engines and a new enviro-friendly version top the bill, and we likes what we sees.
- Powerful engines, SULEV status for CA model, 145-horsepower SE sport version
- Generic styling

Lots of fun to drive w/o spending alot - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By Killianinc - July 4 - 2:00 amWe bought our Sentra straight off the truck at the Nissan dealership and have just fell in love with it. Its the perfect car on gas milage and really fun to drive! The only drawback was some vibrating sound in the dash at only 11k miles. Have since traded for a larger Altima. Overall, Ive owned 4 Nissans and have had nothing but great service.

Excellent car for the money - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By theringer - May 31 - 10:00 amI got this car new for $15K and have been completely happy with it. I wish I had gotten the moonroof and VLSD, but am satisfied otherwise. The exterior styling is kind of plain, but not bad looking, and is definitely improved by the spoiler. On windy days, especially at highway speeds, I get a strange whining/buzzing sound from behind the center console. No idea whats loose. Absolutely love the handling, and the engine has plenty of oomph. Clutch does slip occasionally.

I love this car! - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By kymountains - April 18 - 10:00 amExcellent car for the dollar. I feel like I am driving an expensive piece of equipment. The engine has a lot of power and it handles like a dream. I have the sports package with the 16" tires and the rear spoiler which makes this car look "SHARP"! Great car and one of the best purchases I have ever made. Nissan has made a name for themselves.

Enjoyable - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By Clare - March 17 - 2:00 amSo far, Ive been extremely satisfied with this car. It has been reliable, comfortable and fun to drive. The springs are very stiff in the SE model and do not bode well for putting on makeup, but the performance and cornering that is gained is well worth the harshness of the ride. I would definitely recommend this car. It is quite spacious, easy to insure and fun to drive

An Honest to Goodness 200K car - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By joelw1957 - July 22 - 2:00 amI drive 91 miles (one way) to work. I bought this car for economy and reliability. I expected durability from Nissan. I have 85K miles on this car and have had one repair bill of $116. This car averages 30 mpg in town and 33-37 mpg on the highway (A/C causes the lower number). I have a 20 year-old son and a 17 year-old son. Keeping them out of my car is almost impossible.

Economical but Fun - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By PKristin - January 27 - 10:00 amWhen I was going to buy a car I was pretty definite I wanted a Honda Civic. My brother convinced me to try other cars and Im very glad he did. The Sentra has been a pleasant surprise. I love to travel and it is comfortable on long trips and gets great gas mileage. I always average above what the suggested MPG is for the car.

Wonderful over all. - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By ZoliElo - January 3 - 10:00 amOverall a wonderful car. Quick, reliable, and stylish. Quick do to the legandary SR20De engine. Reliable because of good build quality. And stylish in that it has a mini Maxima car feel to it. Having been a crash in this car I am definitely recommend its safety.

56,300 miles & not a single problem yet! - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By SR20DE MAN - January 3 - 10:00 amThis is one of the most reliable cars that I have ever bought. I redline the engine quite often & it still runs like brand new. It pulls fairly strong for a 2 liter engine. It also sips gas. About 25 MPG city & 32 MPG highway. The suspension is pretty firm. Too bad that they discontinued the SE in 2002.

Reliable Nissan - 2000 Nissan Sentra
By stewby - May 25 - 7:43 pmI bought my SE automatic used and now have over 83,000 miles on it. The horn quit working (broken wire in steering column) and an emission valve failed. Thats been it. Not even a bulb. I just do normal maintenance on the car. This is the best car Ive owned.
