Overview & Reviews
The base 1.8 model receives the body-colored door handles and upper instrument panel storage bin from the upper-level models. A trip computer and cruise control are now included on the 1.8 S, and all models receive new seat fabrics. There's also a new color for the gauge cluster housing on the SE-R, and a new shift knob for the SE-R Spec V.
- Functional cabin design, powerful 2.5-liter engine, nimble handling, lots of standard features.
- Generic styling, small backseat, SE-R Spec V model commands premium price.

My first Nissan - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Brad - October 19 - 11:56 pmAlthough a little slow on the uptake, once the sentra is moving, boy does it move! Some friends and I took mine to Florida right after i got it and i didnt hear one complaint about small back seat or anyone being uncomfortable and my friends are honest with me. This is a wonderful new Sentra and i hope its just the beginning of new things to come! Seems to me like they are raising it up like that altima which is far superior to me than the maxima.

Surprisingly ...Great! - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By rivasmmm - October 12 - 2:00 amI originally wanted the reliability that comes with buying a Honda...but the prices were outrageous! I went for a test drive in the Spec V and was blown away; excellent acceleration, planted feel, convenience of a sedan while offering handling like a coupe sports car. I love the Nissan brand now and recommend Nissans to all my friends! Ive had the car for one year and put 29000 worry-free and trouble-free miles on the car. The gas tank takes me about 300 miles +/- 50 miles depending on my driving style. Its agile, easy to park and easy to maintain myself. Acceleration is instantaneous and the interior feels like that of a more $$$ car. Very supportive

Good commute car - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By me from sunnyvale - July 19 - 10:00 amBought it in October 2004. Got it $300 below invoice, plus $1000 rebate, plus $500 new graduate rebate, plus %1 APR for 5 years. There are no better deals out there. In overall it costed $3500 less than a civic LX. In reliability and quality it can compete with the ciciv or corolla, and yet a lot cheaper with these special cash back and APR deals.

Great car!!!! - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By great car - June 28 - 2:23 amI am a courier that drives 300 miles a day on route. I have put 104,000 miles on the car in a little over a year (it now has 117,000). I have never had any problem with the car! It still runs like new.

Excellent car for the money - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Aaj - June 27 - 4:30 amThis car is an excellent value for the money! In special edition form it becomes even greater. The ride is supple and smooth. The styling is great for an economy sedan. Overall a very good car by an excellent car company.

My Nissan - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Joanna - June 7 - 6:10 pmThe front seats have so much leg room. Even more than my full size SUV. The gas mileage is wonderful.

Nice little commuter car - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Earl R - May 7 - 3:20 amI bought my Sentra as an economical commuter car for my 116 mile daily round trip to DC. The car has better power than I expected from a 1.8L, has decent road manners, acceptable ride comfort, and when driven properly can get very close to the EPA estimated 34 mpg on the highway. My actual mileage usually comes in around 31-32, but I do tend to have a heavy right foot. My only real complaint, and this is a common trait in every Nissan Ive owned/driven, is the interior room, especially in the rear seat area. Im 6-3", and could use just a tad more leg room in front, but I wouldnt even consider climbing in the back of this car. At 23k miles reliability has been perfect so far.

Bad Sentra - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Silver Sentera - February 10 - 11:26 pmThis Sentra has been towed to the shop 7 times, starting at 5000 miles. The throttle sensor went bad 3 times, finally requiring a complete ECM, throttle body, and wiring harness. Then at 35000 miles it started blowing the ECM fuse. It has been very intermittent, now it is getting another ECM and a complete wiring harness and dash electronics. Im not sure what the instrument panel has to do with the problem, but just today Nissan agreed to cover it under warranty even tho the car has 40000 miles on it. The initial repair was around $2000, this estimate is $2700. Very expensive for a $15k car. Needless to say, this will be my last Nissan.

Did not age well - 2005 Nissan Sentra
By Matt Russell - February 4 - 9:36 amMy car has 70,000 miles on it. Between 50,000 and 70,000 I have had to replace the catalytic converter, the timing chain, the entire exhaust system, and a whole slew of sensors. The car has become a money pit. I enjoyed the car for the first 50,000 miles, but it has become an unreliable nightmare.
