This Year's Model Updates:

All 2003 Pathfinders will offer optional satellite radio, with a choice of XM or Sirius services. The LE model receives a standard leather-appointed interior, while SE models feature restyled wheels. Both models also feature a new four-spoke steering wheel and electronic rear-hatch window release. For safety, there is a new Vehicle Dynamic Control Package that bundles Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), traction control and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Two items no longer offered are the manual transmission and the optional navigation system. Guess you have to buy a map.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, carlike interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available All-Mode 4WD system on LE models.
Cons:
  • Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

Very happy with the overall performance of my P-finder. 6 disc indash player is great and fairly easy to operate. Stereo sounds great right from the factory. Plenty of power to spare. Only bads, head room. Im 63 and my head scrapes the top. When you really get on it, it doesnt know what gear to find.

Great handling and comfort. The fold down rear seats are tricky but the reclining feature is excellent. The gas milage is average but has great pick-up.

Ok, so the gas mileage isnt the best. Its an SUV, what are you gonna do? I still think that out of all the SUVs out there, this one has some of the best mileage Ive seen. Im averaging 20city/24hwy. The comfort of the ride is extremely smooth and its got great get up and go. Im very glad I bought this car. It has been reliable comfortable car.

My 2003 Nissan Pathfinder LE was an excellent buy, and I recommend it for anyone in the market for a slightly more luxurious, mid-size SUV. The excitement is still there every day I get in it for the daily commute, and the styling gives me confidence that it will hold its appeal for years to come. It is the perfect mix of power, size, luxury, and ruggedness that can handle anything I ask of it. The LEs aggressive, yet sophisticated demeanor melds well with the Texas landscape. Oh, and a note about the gas mileage; its a RWD 240HP V6 SUV, so come to terms with its gas guzzling tendencies BEFORE you buy and it will all be OK!

  • So far pretty good - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

This is vehicle steeped in its own tradition, one that has ebbed and flowed stylistically and mechanically with the various SUV trends. Simply put, it is a very well-built, reliable vehicle that has had a few sputters along the way - in 03-04 it was a bit of an identity crisis, with two main flaws: poor fuel economy and bad rear seating. However, it makes up for it with excellence in other areas. Recently I passed a semi-truck on a snowy road at 120km/hr, something I just wouldnt do with every vehicle - its got plenty of zip, traction, overall quality. Just think twice about how much that back-seat is used by adult passengers, and be willing to pay 20% more for gas than a car.

  • The one to have - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

Being a fan of fishing, I needed a vehicle with real offroad capabilities but with features of a luxury car. After shopping all makes thats the better for the price far from every one else. Thats the only real SUV on the market. Dont talk me about integral with suspension for paved street as a SUV.

  • Tough rig - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

I drive my cars til they die. Im 50 years old and this is my favorite vehicle. Whether driving around town, going skiing or heading out camping this is the best rig. Of course I wish it got 25 MPG, but Ill settle for 19- 20. Seats are great. Hate the 2006+ models..uncomfortable. Powerful engine. Ive had it five years, drive 25k per year and very few issues.

  • The Almost Perfect Pathfinder - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

My 1990 Pathfinder is a stick shift with 225,000 miles. I had taken very good care of it and had just replaced the A/C and timeing belt. I thought it could go at least another 100,000miles but I really was getting tired of the stick shift so I finally decided to let my son have it and get another car. I got another Pathfinder, 2003 4WD SE, cloth seats, Popular Package. This car is absolutly superb in everyway. The comfort level is outstanding. The performance is fabulous. I cant say enough about this car!!!
