This Year's Model Updates:

All 2003 Pathfinders will offer optional satellite radio, with a choice of XM or Sirius services. The LE model receives a standard leather-appointed interior, while SE models feature restyled wheels. Both models also feature a new four-spoke steering wheel and electronic rear-hatch window release. For safety, there is a new Vehicle Dynamic Control Package that bundles Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), traction control and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Two items no longer offered are the manual transmission and the optional navigation system. Guess you have to buy a map.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, carlike interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available All-Mode 4WD system on LE models.
Cons:
  • Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

Reserched Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander and Pathfinder. Rebate and .9 financing separated the Pathfinder from the Highlander.

I bought my 03 Pathfinder in Aug 05 and ever since its been wonderful. Yeah, the gas mileage isnt anywhere near a hybrid --but if thats what youre looking for then buy a Civic. But my Pathfinder is great!! Ive never had any mechanical problems. The only problem I had was with the heat shields. They became rusted and was removed, but thats what I get for living in Chicago. Let me tell you, I absolutely HATE driving in the snow, but the 4WD helps a lot. I love the bose, heated seats, 6CD changer, programmable drivers seat, & everything else! My boyfriend was mad because I made the decision of buying this car without him, but he (being the car guy he is) even admits it was worth it!!

This vehicle handles exceptionally. You cant go wrong with the engine, the interior is very pleasing, the suspension is great, and its a lot of car for the money.

went from 96 4runner to this vehicle. i got more power and features for $4000 less. does everything i want for a suv. do not go off road, but pull 2500# mcycle to fla every year, and pull utility trailer. cannot beleive difference from 4runner. maybe new 4runner is better, but i am not waiting for price gouging arrogant toyota. as for wind noise from roof rack, had dealer remove it. never used one anyway.

I drove it 37 hours straight on the first trip and couldnt find a thing to complain about.

  • A mix of beauty and a beast - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

I bought this LE 4x4 sept 2002. It is a great suv. Everything is perfect, except the interior could have lil more spacious (just a little, not as bulky as Acura MDX. The leather seats are great (even the smell of it), sound system is superb, handling and driving is fun. The engine was quite quiet, but after 4weeks I noticed the it has become noisy and screams like a u-haul truck. Not sure if this is standard or I should take it to service...

Safe, confident and reliable handling. SUV with an identity crisis-look like a SUV, quiet & refined like a luxury car and handling and power akin to a moderately priced sports car! So-so cargo room, especially with rear seats reclined. Excellent visibility.

  • Reliable, fast, and clean SUV - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

Overall the Pathfinder was a good buy. Its strong, fast, and feels good to drive. The styling is a bit understated, and the extra exterior options (grillguard $399, skirack $100, rear wind buffer $78, taillight guards $168) can add up quick. Of these, the grillguard and the rear wind buffer add the most to the appearence of the vehicle. The main reasons I chose this vehicle over the other competitors (I had owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee) was the excellent reliability, and the lower price.

  • An excellent choice! - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

I totally disagree with the review written by the other customer on this page. I found the dealer to be very responsible and accommodating... the quality of the Nissan Pathfinder (and a previously owned Nissan Maxima) is what makes me coming back for more! I love the interior quality, performance, reliability, style and more. My next vehicle will be either a Pathfinder or a Maxima!
