This Year's Model Updates:

A long overdue 250-horsepower V6 engine debuts for 2001, making Pathfinder the most powerful SUV in its class. An interior freshening and more standard goodies, as well as snazzy options like an in-dash navigation system and an entertainment system for rear-seat occupants, are new for 2001. Also added to the LE's options list this fall is the handy All-mode automatic 4WD system from the Infiniti QX4.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, car-like interior, good reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available Infiniti All-Mode 4WD on LE models.
Cons:
  • Tight rear seat, high price tag, cheap interior bits.

Having never owned A SUV, I did a lot of research. 240 HP, no longer an industry leader but plenty of power. 6 disk in dash Bose with stearing wheel controls!!!! WOW. I keep hearing about how cramped the backsteat is and..OK a little smaller than most but unless you are over 65" 250 lb it is fine. 1 touch up and down windows and sun roof:) You can even roll down the windows with the keyless entry:) This car makes me happy.

I bought this Pathfinder on EBAY!!! I have absolutely NO regrets! I love this vehicle! It truly is FUN to drive, and is very responsive to any and all road conditions. This baby ia a great performer. It loves to run, and that will cost you at the gas pump, but if you drive conservatively, which is quite hard to do in this rabbit, the mileage is very respectable.. I got 21mpg driving the PA turnpike on Cruise Control. This is a wonderfully smooth riding SUV that is so tightthat most people who ride in it think it is brand new. The handling and suspension are excellent and the POWER is AWESOME!

I bought my PF 01 in June 2000 and put 62K+ miles on it. I had one problem with the Heating/AC fan that was fixed by dealer. The CD changer stopped working recently, probably due hot climate in Arizona. The car is a perfect midsize SUV. I have driven it offroad and deep snow (Colorado). I put many highway miles on it too.

Excellent vehicle; fun to drive; handles in snow and rain very well (not as good as my ol Bronco tho) Classy interior with awesome stereo and features. Very reliable with nothing but oil-changes and gas so far. It probably will need tires before it hits 40K (stock tires were cheap.) service dept is excellent and quick (usually).

When I bought my Pathfinder, I felt on top of the world. It felt like a luxury car, but still gave me the height and capacity of an SUV. I dont use it for any heavyduty work, but I have been so glad to have it when moving furniture, kids, and friends around. Its fun to have friends get in and say, "Wow, this is really nice!" Not to mention, the leather seats are beautiful. I only have 2 complaints: the turn radius is pretty big--its tought to make u- turns, and the rear door is really heavy! Otherwise, its perfect.

25000 miles and NO PROBLEMS. This vehicle is very versitile. Easy to park, fun to drive, merging is breeze, 240hp. would have got the LE but at 63" i did not have enough headroom.

I bought this vehicle with 15k miles on it and currently have 257k miles logged. Other than the usual wear and tear that all cars through this one has performed fantastically well. Mileage is 17 mpg city/hwy/4wd it doesnt matter. It is comfortable to drive and has plenty of get up and go for freeway driving and great stability when off road. The majority of my driving is highway and this vehicle will cruise at 75-80 and never miss a beat.
