This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

Only one complaint about this car. Turn radius of a Mac Truck. Thats it! Car for the money was the best decision. A family member has a 2007 and I like my cabin better but they do have a cup holder in the sideskirt pocket.

  • best for the money by far - 2005 Nissan Altima

I have owned bmws, hondas and nissans in the past. I would have to say that the nissan is the best car for the money. So many features offered on such a value packed car. Navigation, xenons and 250hp are amazing to have on a car that is under 30k.

First, I want to thank and recommend Edmunds to everyone. I shopped using their pricing quotes and I wasnt disappointed. I was able to get $1600 below the TMV, which at the time was below sticker just by using their price quote service. I bought the car back in August 04, I was switching from a full size SUV (Tahoe) to a car mainly for the gas mileage. I was looking for something economical but that still had some power like my truck. I found it in the Altima. This car is great. I love the power and the handling. It looks sleek both outside and in. I got the 3.5SL and its everything you would want in a car. I now drive an hour each way to work and I LOVE IT. Stereo really jams!

This car is probably the most thrilling car Ive ever driven. The great thing about it, its pretty fast, but also very comfortable, a rare combination. Everywhere I go, all I get is compliments, even the people at the dealership give me props for this badboy. I also suggest making the dealership wash the car, they do a bang-up job and really make it shine. You just cant go wrong buying this car....you get that fun feeling when you drive it, like you are driving someone elses sports car, but then you realize its yours, and just smile.

  • What Do I think of my Altima? - 2005 Nissan Altima

Great car, really luxurious for the great price, not too big not too small but just right!!

  • Excellent Midsize car of its class - 2005 Nissan Altima

I think this car is not only attractive on the outside as well as the inside, but this car handles great on the road. I also think that you dont need the V6 edition to get more punch when you drive. I drive the 2.5S model and that car definitely has some punch in it! When going 60 miles an hour, you dont even feel like your going that fast, even at speeds of 80 or more. I love this car so much that I hope to keep it on the road for 10years!:)

  • So Far, Super Car - 2005 Nissan Altima

We found this on ebay. Had 45k on it and paid $9900. Can get over 30MPG on hwy. Bose 6CD sounds great. My wife likes the light emerald green color. Leather htd seats are very comfortable. Have always owned Hondas, and this is first Nissan, and so far impressed. The engine is smooth and seems more like 6 cyl. Only negative is this car should have std ABS and side airbags (which ours does not) Would certainly recommend!

My 2005 Nissan Altima is my first new car. Prior to this I had a used Honda Accord. I was looking for a car that was comparable and I exceeded my goal. This is a great car to drive.

  • The Best Car I have Owned! - 2005 Nissan Altima

In Sept. 2004 I bought a 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5SE. Lthr SPrt Pkge, Satin White w/ Charcoal Lthr. 5-speed Manual. Really liked that car but could not handle a manual any longer. Traded it in with 7k miles in Feb 2005 for another 2005 3.5SE, this time however I got the Auto with Manual mode (wont be missing my 5spd) in Sheer Silver w/ Charcoal Lthr. I now also have a Navigation system (My White one didnt). I also added the chrome wheel exchange. I also got the side spoilers which make the car look much better. Ive owned a total of 4 Nissans: 01 Altima SE, 03 Maxima SE, 05 ALtima 3.5SE (Manual), 05 Altima 3.5SE (Auto). They have all been great cars with no problems. Highly Recommend Nissan!!
