Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

Engine Failure CX7 @ 70K miles - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By ruby23 - August 7 - 12:04 pmWe bought a Certified CX7 2008. A year and a half later the car is completely giving out. We take MAJOR care of all our cars with Synthetic Oil, so when they told us it was due to "Sludge" it was definitely a slap in the face. The engine needs to be replaced at only 70k miles. We talked to a mechanic and he told us that the turbo overhearts the engine turning everything into sludge and even melting it. Although we have a platinum coverage, the insurance is doing everything they can to blame it on us. Ive been looking at reviews and it seems ALOT of you are having or had the same issues! Its horrible to keep paying for a car whose engine dies of its own malfunction. Its time Mazda owns up!

Piece of crap - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Callaway - January 27 - 11:53 amFirst mazda has a secret recall on the car for the timing gear and chain problem. Then the nut on the turbo came off; this of course is not under warranty. Now the airbag and suspension are being recalled. Just give everyone money back and crush these cars. Want a real turd but one.!
