Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

Fun to drive, not fun to maintain - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By ShiftLft - September 19 - 2:00 amThe 2008 CX7 is a fun car to drive, but over the years has been less than fun to maintain. Less than 3 months after purchasing it brand new, the exhaust tips began rusting. That was the first bad sign. Since then in just over 2 years, Ive had a door replaced after rusting, trailer hitch has rusted, tires lasted a whole 18,000 miles, I need new brakes and rotors already, and the EGR valve has gone bad and needs replacement ($900 repair). After all of this, last week I decided to trade in the vehicle rather than deal with 3 more years of problems on the loan. Im picking up my 2011 GMC Terrain tomorrow.

One of the best SUVs out there - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Insane Driver - September 15 - 10:10 pmAfter looking around at a few different vehicles, I came across the CX-7. Although I was looking at things like CTSs and A4s, the CX-7 won me over. Has to be the most fun SUV to drive and be seen in because attention is what this SUV seems to attract. A lot of people say it looks like a Lexus and in galaxy gray, it really looks as if it cost $50,000 or more. I drive all highway and seem to be getting 27mpg with the cruise set at 70 and about 21 in town as long as you stay off the boost. The interior is extremely well built with almost Audi fit and finish levels. I cant say enough how much I enjoy driving this SUV, maybe me putting 300 miles on it in the first 3 days I got it says how much.

The BEST Crossover! - 2011 Mazda CX-7
By pamy1 - September 12 - 10:00 pmI love this crossover, compared to other competitors the Mazda CX-7 is #1! Fun to drive and even comes with great features. I have the sport with convenience package, which is by far the best package. I just cant live without the heated seats, interative bluetooth, back-up camera and the moonroof. There are two ways to fold the seats down, there is even a release button to put the back seats all the way down, and you can put all your grocerys in the trunk with each. My husband is 6 ft 5 and has plenty of room when hes driving, so there is definetly alot of head and leg room. I received so many compliments on this vehicle. The best car for your money!

LOVE IT! - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Sweet Drama - September 7 - 11:50 pmUntil I test drove the CX-7, I had no idea this car existed. After that, there was no turning back! I absolutely love this car! Im a person who on the average buys a car every 2-3 years, this is by far my favorite! I just cant say enough about it and/or Mazda! If it wasnt for my Dad loving his Miata so much, I would have never walked into the Mazda dealer! This crossover does not feel like a 4 cyl, not with the turbo. The drive is amazing, the braking is smooth and the handling is fabulous! Overall its a lot of fun to drive and the perfect car.

Love our new Mazda - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By tod - August 21 - 5:43 pmHave had the car for a couple of months. Very fun to drive, lots of power with the turbo. Very comfortable inside with plenty of room. Gas mileage for us has always been over 20mpg with the average being 22-24mpg with 70-80% highway. No real problems except when at highway speed transmission seems to be "confused" when in 5th-6th gear. Almost like it cannot decide which gear. According to others there is a new adjustment to fix the problem.

Zoom Zoom - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By MPC - July 6 - 12:26 amThis crossover drives more like a sports car. The turbo makes it extremely quick. Could have a little less cabin noise.

Bad Reliability - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By JROD - July 4 - 8:23 pmI bought the first model year for this vehicle and it came with some issues. When i had 14,000 miles, the engine seal was leaking and they had to do some major repairs to the engine, luckily this was under warranty. At 42,000 the air compressor failed and broke the serpentine belt and major issues to the AC system, unfortunately i was out of warranty and i was responsible for all costs. Ended up trading in the vehicle due to so many issues.

sweet ride - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By mgr - June 27 - 12:46 amMy wife & I are just having way to much fun. This ride is way above our expectations. We originally set our sights on FX-35 (infinity) & RX-330 (Lexus), until she found this. With the quality & reliability of Mazda. We ordered ours through Costco & they delivered it to the nearest dealer, no haggling just a great deal. Ours is pearl white with sand leather, Homelink 6-disc Bose & moonroof. We also ordered after market wheels & tires. This SUV really turns heads. SWEET RIDE.
