Model Overview:

The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.

Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

  • We Love it! - 2007 Mazda CX-7

We have owned the CX-7 for about a year. I bought it for the wife as we needed a vehicle to haul the Grandkids around and our 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse was just not suited for passengers or carseats! The acceleration is stellar ans the handling is supreme! Yes, the gas mileage leaves something to be desired, but overall we are happy with the vehicle!

  • WOW! - 2007 Mazda CX-7

Bought the Copper Mica, with Tech Package and Sirius. I love how the Navigation, Sirius and audio features are tightly integrated. The sound package is phenomenal! Fit n finish superb. Handles exceptionally well and plenty of ZOOM. On the down side, the A/C is barely adequate and being a turbo, theres a slight hesitation when suddenly accelerating, but when the turbo kicks in, hang on for dear life!

  • Good car, dont get black - 2011 Mazda CX-7

In the past, Mazdas interior design was light years ahead of anything American you could buy so I was somewhat disappointed with the interior design of the CX-7. Dont get black interior as everything shows up on it. Its got all sorts of "extras" I dont need and dont use such as blue tooth, 5 disk cd changer (who needs that), and a link for a mp3 player. I must admit the heated seats are nice when its cold out. Other than these extras its just a basic car that drives well and gets me where I need to go. Im not much of a gear head so Im not even going to try to say anything about performance.

  • A true "Sport" utility vehicle - 2007 Mazda CX-7

The CX-7 is the anti-Toyota. Toyotas are great reliable products, and there are many people who love the isolated ride, but for those who like to experience the "Sport" in SUV, the CX-7 is a great alternative. In all I am very happy with my CX-7, however there are things to note. First is the there is a noticeable turbo lag, which at times makes the acceleration a little unpredictable. The ride is definitely on the stiff side, which is great for cornering, but not so great for those who like a smooth ride. This also contributes to the road noise at highway speeds. There is some torque steer from the front wheel drive. In all it is a great car for those who dont want to buy a Toyota.

This vehicle does what I need it to do and when I want it to do it. Love the styling, performance, and handling. It is everything I wanted in an SUV. Drives like a car and performs well in adverse conditions.

  • Simply Wow - Value of the Century - 2010 Mazda CX-7

I dont know how Mazda can pack so much luxury, technology and comfort into an agile, solid ride for thousands less than the high priced tags. The Grand Touring AWD comes with Bose Stereo, Navigation, Heated Leather Seats, Power everything...etc. etc. standard. To think I almost bought an Acura, Volvo or Lexus for so much more. Pure luxury on a working family budget. Thank you Mazda!

  • Buyer Beware - 2007 Mazda CX-7

This crossover is fun to drive, thats it. Mechanical problems. It requires premium fuel and the gas mileage is about 16-17 city miles. Only gets about 275-300 miles per 18 gallon tank.

  • Excellent vehicle - 2010 Mazda CX-7

This is a very nice vehicle with plenty of features and style. The turbo engine is smooth with very minimal turbo lag - if any at all. I did, however, expect the car to have more power with the 244 hp. I kind of wish they just made this with a 6 cylinder and ditched the turbo. The MPG would be the same probably. The AWD system seems to work, although I can better gauge that in the coming Maine winter months. The handling is excellent for a vehicle of this size - much like my 2007 Mazda 6 that I traded in for this vehicle.

  • Wish I knew about the tire situation. - 2008 Mazda CX-7
    By -

Well I have had my car for a little over a year. I really love my car but I am having to replace my tires already. FYI- the warranty on tires for new cars is for only a year after that its your problem. And then there is the gas problem. Can you say wow? If you have money to spend on gas, then this car is for you. Other than that I love my car.

  • Amazing Vehicle - 2007 Mazda CX-7
