Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

Wonderful Car, Navigation Is Bad - 2009 Mazda CX-7
By AgentBob - February 12 - 11:36 amBought my 2009 CX-7 Grand Touring FWD in Oct 2008, wonderful car so far, great style. The only thing it needs is a complete overhaul on the navigation system-very hard to read. Aside from that I would buy another. I only have 325 miles on it so far, but I was happy with the lease terms. Go and buy this and have fun.

Very impressed - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Huhu - February 7 - 12:20 amThe handling and all around safety (brake is amazing) of CX-7 are superior in this segment and beyond! Design and build quality is outstanding too. I am pleasantly surprised and very impressed. I think its gas mileage is quite acceptable.

Got Rid of It - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Deb - February 1 - 3:30 amThis vehicle looks great on the outside, but is the most uncomfortable vehicle I have ever owned. Some features are over thought out. If the gas cap is loose the computer gives an error message and the message will not go away by correcting the problem and tightening the cap. No, you must go to the dealership to have it reset. It constantly gave me error messages when nothing was wrong according to the dealer. Minor things are missing, like a light by the mirrors on the visor, and setting the clock was nearly impossible. The dealer did not know how and I accidentally set it. The ride is very choppy, I felt every little dimple in the road. I could not wait to get rid of this vehicle!

Piece of Junk - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By mtaquila82 - January 31 - 8:13 amBought this car for my wife last January. She liked the styling and the performance over her Explorer. Big mistake. Have had it in the shop several times for stupid problems like wheels locking up while driving, windows not working, and the passenger side airbag light staying on (meaning the airbag is off) even when an adult is in the seat. Gas mileage is atrocious for a 4 cylinder. I dont have an issue with 18 mpg, but a 4 cylinder... lets be serious, especially with premium gas. Sticker on the car said 24 mpg on the highway, obviously they meant a downhill highway when you are driving with a fierce tailwind. Seats are incredibly uncomfortable & terrible resale value. Dont buy it!

Nice Ride but Comp. System is off - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Express - January 30 - 1:33 amIve purchased my Madza CX-7 three months ago and the transmission and tire warning lights came on three times already. You wouldnt think warning lights will come up this soon after a new car purchase. Yet again, I need to take it back to the dealership for a check-up. Something is wacky with the computer system.

A Dream come true! - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Sharon Jones - January 25 - 10:40 pmAlthough I have not had this car very long. I have been eyeing it for a year. When I first saw this car online I knew it was the car for me. I love the look. My husband calls it the "sexy look" car with the impressive body style. He is also happy with it, loves the ride and the great pickup.

CX7 Review - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By ckkoehler007 - January 25 - 10:06 pmFast car, but loud while driving, can hear the road and anything that hit the inside wheel well. Sometimes it is uncomfortable. Kinda low to the ground. Not like a regular SUV. Very sporty and fun to drive but more like a sports car. Love the transmission, the ability to choose automatic vs. gears. Turns on a dime, very tight steering. rooming back seat. but small area in back. Traction control is good too.

Stellar - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Christopher - January 11 - 7:30 amI love this car and feel very safe driving it. The engine, performance, style and agility are impressive. Im glad I bought the 2007 model because the gas mileage is better than the 2009s which take regular fuel. Ive never owned a vehicle that made me excited about driving until I bought my copper red mica CX-7--its a blast to drive.

The Sports Car of Small Crossovers - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By Alan - January 10 - 12:56 pmCurvaceous exterior is stunning, Unlike the boxy competitors in its class, it has a more upscale appearance on par with higher end CUVs such as the Infiniti FX35/45. Excellent & funtional interior. The piano black trim on the instrument panel and steering wheel is very modern and appears like something from a luxury car (ex. Aston Martin DBS). Bose sound system is excellent. The handling and feel of the car are on par with sport sedans. The steering is more heavily weighted, which translates to excellent control with the feel of a German sedan. Handling is smooth and progressive, with little body roll. 244bhp enginer is strong albeit with slight turbo lag. After 5 BMWs, I love the CX-7.

Fantastic! - 2010 Mazda CX-7
By JesseSouTex - December 28 - 8:46 pmI bought this vehicle last week. Its perfect. I got the perfect color (dallas cowboy blue), turbo, dual exhaust, leather seats, and heating seats. The drive is awesome. It has a smooth, but sporty drive. Easy to maneuver and accelerates quick. If youre looking for a midsize SUV, drive this one for sure. It will probably beat out the other vehicles youre considering. I am pretty picky when it comes to my vehicles, and this one really impressed me! Dont think, just buy it!
