Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

Zoom Zoom - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By alecdean - December 19 - 12:03 amI love this car. I got the Black Cherry with upgraded Sand Leather - WOW! Everyone loves it. I love the fact theyre hard to find on the road - not everyone has figured out the new secret. I debated between this and the new Acura RDX, but for the money - this was a steal. Must haves: Navigation Package - it is awesome!

Gas and Repairs - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Lamar Thomas - December 14 - 9:35 pmBreak pads wear quickly, gas mileage very very poor and requires premium gas, turbo system and transmission unreliable with high repair cost. Often need front alignment. Backup camera view screen are poor. Rear seats uncomfortable. Windows and doors noise.

By michael - December 7 - 7:40 amI love this car! Fun to drive; handles the curves through the mountains like on rails. Only complaints: check engine light comes on often. I am well aware of the gas cap causing this but that has not been a problem. Also it lags a little when you "punch it" from a stop - the turbo takes a bit to wind up. Could get a little better mileage and use regular gas.

CX-7 Houston - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Fred - December 1 - 12:26 pmI now have 22,00 miles on my CX-7 and it has met my needs. I drove CRV, Rav4, Escape and decided on the CX-7. I wanted a vehicle with good ground clearance for Houston rains, easy in and out, and good handling. I like the gauges which are well lit, day and night. It handles well, and have done some sport car racing in the past. The fuel mileage could be better, I get 22 mpg overall country/Houston driving, and up to 26 mpg on the interstate trips. I would like to use regular gas like the 2008 model allows. It is a great car for old guys & young too. The leg room & power seat is what sold it.

Lovin It!!!! - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Carmeshia - November 24 - 5:53 pmI absolutely love my new CX-7. I have had it for 6 months and have no regrets about purchasing it. I previously had a RAV-4 and it pales in comparison. The CX-7 is sporty and stylish and I get compliments on it on a daily basis. When you need to get up and go in traffic, it is ready. The navigation is great, the Bose surround sound is great, and the overall interior is great. I love the color of the interior orange and blue lights at night. I think this is the first vehicle I will keep for a while.

Must See - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By Mike - November 23 - 4:03 pmI shopped the Acura RDX, Murano, and 2007 CR-V (through internet). My Grand Touring AWD with Bose blew my mind. My family owns all Hondas, as did I (2004 V6 accord Aoupe). The CX-7 made me change car companies. The value of this truck is unreal and should be considered if you are looking for a mid range SUV. Handling, styling, features, and standard equipment make this a STANDOUT among its competitors. Once you test drive and see this in person, it will alter your shopping list that day.

CX-7 GT-errific - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By bear - November 14 - 12:30 pmGreat performance, handles like a sport car, tracks well and has the ponies for highway driving. Winter driving was made easy with the AWD. Does need a block heater for prairie use though, once the battery starts to age it might be tough to crank in very cold -40C weather. Needs Bluetooth for MP3. The requirement for premium gas is a downer given fuel prices but mileage is not an issue so its a wash. I drove 3 Caddys prior to the CX-7 and wont go back. For the money it is superior to the FX35 too. Test drive one today!

Best decision I ever made - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By LMazda - October 31 - 1:13 amI love everything about this car. It is fast to accelerate, fun to drive, and a great looking car. It draws a lot of attention because not many people have them. The only bad thing is tires are expensive. I have had the car for four months and I still get excited every time I drive it. BUY IT

A love it. - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By greatglamdc - October 29 - 9:20 pmThis was the first car that I ever leased/bought on my own after college. I have had none of the hassles or problems that others listed about the AC/Turbo, and i put regular unleaded gas in mine! The only problem I had was my tires crapped our at about 25,000. The replacement tires cost me $1400, but it was well worth the investment- the wear on these hasnt been nearly as severe. Im actually going into the dealership to buy my car tomorrow- Im over the miles, but I would buy it anyways! Its a wonderful car.

Great Looking car - but beware of tires. - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By Kara - October 19 - 4:23 amLove how the car stands out - its different than what everyone has. Really appreciate Mazdas design innovation. I considered myself a big advocate for the brand, however this will be my last...the past two Mazdas have required a tire replacement much to early. Two tires on my CX-7 (Touring model) are considered "dangerous" and two "suggested replacements". So at 20,000 miles, Im paying over $900 for four new tires. Mazda will not take any responsibility even though they make the decision to use that tire. I have never had this issue with any vehicle - other than my two Mazdas. So if you go this route - make sure to bake in extra costs for this issue.
