Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

Gotta Love it! - 2009 Mazda CX-7
By myzoomerama - January 16 - 3:53 amI love my CX-7! Traded in a 2004 Mazda 6, wanted to go back to a SUV type vehicle but got the the best of both worlds with my CX-7 - drives like a sports car with the upgraded comfort and appearance of a small SUV. Considered just about every SUV on the market including Ford Escape and Nissan Murano. The CX-7 consistently turns my head and for the price you absolutely can not go wrong!

Gabs review - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By gabrielh - January 13 - 9:16 pmBought this car 3 weeks ago and my wife and I absolutely love it ! We were looking for a car that combines space, performance and looks and this is THE one. My wife wanted more comfort and space than our Subaru Impreza WRX and and I wanted a "sporty" car. The CX-7 is the perfect combination of both. I dont regret selling my WRX for this car. Only bad point on the CX-7: the single CD player (and 6 CD player in option) doesnt play MP3s (seems only the 6CD player with NAV package is mp3 compatible)!! Come on! We are in 2007!!

Great Sports SUV - 2010 Mazda CX-7
By SriDevi - January 8 - 12:30 amStraight out of the showroom, this sweet engine gave me 27.8 mpg while driving both city and highway miles. Its gutsy, sleek, well made, and exceptionally responsive. Compared the Scion, Honda Element, Rav4, Mazda 3, Saturn Vue, and chose this car. My expectations are high and it delivers. At my fingertips are great, useful features, plus it earns high safety scores, and has excellent cargo room. Ive owned pickups, vans, station wagons, a jag. This vehicle capitalizes on the best features of each of them. Its sporty, handles on dime, can haul big stuff, has plenty of guts. Cuts through Michigans snow, doesnt lose its grip on slippery roads. Im so happy I bought a CX7!

Not too many issues... - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By rmcclimond - December 31 - 3:58 pmI bought my car in 2007, with 6 mile on the odometer. Had only a couple of issues until now. My husband was driving the car, had to break hard, then as accelerating, between 3rd and 4th, heard a loud boom, pulled over to check. Didnt see anything, now the vehicle wont engage when put into reverse. Guess well hit the mechanic on Monday.

SUV Thats Fun to Drive - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By DK - December 20 - 5:33 amI bought my CX-7 in March and so far so good. It is my first SUV and the driving experience is fun. Body roll is car-like and breaking is excellent. I am averaging around 20 MPG. No issue with storage. The cargo cover is a nice feature especially this time of year. The stereo system is solid as well.

Solid, Fun, and Very Usable - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By 2nd review - December 19 - 4:23 amThis is my second review. I was allowed to purchase my own company car, and work as a consultant for a manufacturer. I travel throughout the Southeast US, doing exhibits and speaker engagements. I can pack my entire exhibit in my CX-7, and motor to anywhere work takes me. Ive put 50,000 on the car in one year. I love it! I might complain about the average of 20.5 to 22 mpg. But, maybe if I slowed down Id get better mileage. Ill keep the zoom zoom. Really, this car drives like a sports car, has the space of a small suv, and has performed flawlessly first year. I cant wait to see how Mazda improves on this unit in years to come. I will be trading in a couple years you know.
