Overview & Reviews
The Mazda CX-7 is a compact crossover SUV with seating for five. Introduced for 2007, it was a refinement on the more utilitarian Tribute and like most newer Mazdas, it has an athletic demeanor. The CX-7 also incorporates most of the elements that continue to make crossovers so popular, including carlike handling, available all-wheel drive and a useful amount of cargo capacity.
Although the CX-7 is fun to drive as crossovers go, its base four-cylinder engine is memorable for its sluggish acceleration and subpar fuel economy. The available turbocharged four-cylinder solves the performance problem, but its fuel economy is even worse. With the efficient CX-5 waiting in the wings, the CX-7 was phased out after the 2012 model year.

CX-7 Touring FWD - 2008 Mazda CX-7
By SCJim - October 17 - 8:13 amAfter much research, I replaced my BMW X5 of five years with the the CX-7. I went with the Touring model as I didnt like the Grand Touring trim and no need for NAV. The car is an excellent value for the money. Fun to drive and interior comforts that you wouldnt expect at the price point.

Mazda CX7 Grand Touring Brilliant! - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By David Wayne - October 16 - 7:03 amA brilliant vehicle inside and out. Indiscernible turbo lag, faster and better overall ride quality than my 06 Acura 300hp RL and far and away top notch compared to the laggy and gas guzzling Acura RDX. You dont see many RDXs on the road as most are still collecting dust on the dealer lot. The CX7 has it all. Again, simply brilliant.

Head Turner Down Under - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By JOE FARR - October 4 - 1:13 pmLiving on the Gold Coast and trying to find sporty car on a budget is not easy as the prices here are 25% higher than in the States. This fits the bill with change to spare. At $1.23 per liter or $4.75 a gallon, fuel is important. We couldnt be happier. This is our 5th Mazda in 5 years. 2 Mazda 6, RX8, and Tribute. This one is the best of the bunch. Anything else is second class.

...and it just keeps getting better....NOT!!! - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By subszero - October 3 - 12:03 pm1. Turbo replacement at 65K miles....$3400 2. FIRST VVT replacement at 72K miles....$1600 3. SECOND VVT replacement at 90K miles....$1200 (got only the part...$450...as "goodwill"...yeah me!) 4. Transmission replacement at about 100K miles....$4000+ ....getting a letter from Mazda in the mail that "extends the warranty" on the VVT...thinking I may be able to recoup ~$3000, only to find that the extension was only to 70K miles.....PRICELESS!!!! Does anyone else find it odd that these warranties expire JUST before something MAJOR happens? Someone is getting "ZOOM ZOOMd" alright!!

Mazdas CX-7: The coolest CUV - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By ljmattox - October 1 - 2:26 amWeve just finished our lease of a 2007 CX-7, and had a very positive experience overall. Ours was an early-build 07, so we had quite a few TSB service visits at first: reprogram the TCM for highway surging, reprogram the ECM for slow speed throttle response (as delivered, a little "gas" did little, then a little more lit a rocket), install new, better protecting door seals, and finally a new A/C control head unit to prevent condenser freeze-up in very hot weather. Since then? Nada. Its been bulletproof, fun to drive, and still so "cool" to look at; *great* styling for this class. Fitting real snow tires in the winter made it unstoppable, and we had it cross-country many times.

Love our Mazda - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By D. Singer - September 24 - 8:00 amJust wanted to tell everyone we were considering a Lexus SUV when we saw a commercial on the Mazda CX-7. We called the local Mazda dealership and made arrangements to test drive a Touring package. We took it home that same day! We love the style, ride, comfort and price! Recommend it to everyone.

Cx7 gas pig - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By shawn - August 17 - 3:06 amWe brought this car in March of 2009 and it had 15,800 miles and it was great at first we drove it to TN and back to Va the whole trip we put regular gas in the car not knowing it took premium gas. After putting 1500 miles on the car the check engine light came on. So we took the car into the dealership to have it looked at and they said the fuel sensor had went bad so they fixed it under the warranty. After that we didnt have to many issues with the car other than the gas mileage stinks and premium gas burns a hole in your pocket. So just a week ago we went and traded it in for a brand new 2010 Mazda 6 i touring plus which is great and takes regular gas which is great love the new 6 alot more

Awesome CX-7 AWD Turbo Charged 4-Cylinder - 2007 Mazda CX-7
By DBrace - August 4 - 7:10 pmWe purchased this vehicle for my wife and it has exceeded our expectations from the get go. Everything about this vehicle is fantastic. We purchased the 2007 Grand Touring AWD. Color: Copper Red Mica. The only item that my wife didnt want was the Navigation System. I own a business and I am thinking about purchasing another one for myself (except with the navigation system). The Navigation System has a camera mounted at the rear and when you put the vehicle in "Reverse" the camera comes on and shows up on the Navigation Screen (very nice idea, especially if you have small children). I would suggest that you go out to your local dealer and test drive one, you will be hooked right away!
