  • Watch out big 3 - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I love the design of this new Sonata. The dual exhausts are hot and the car really takes off for the 6. The seats can be a little uncomfortable and the ride of the GLS is a little tight but overall I am very pleased. People always take notice of my dark cinnamon beauty coming at you. This new Sonata should make people want to check out Hyundai before going to Toyota,Nissan, or Honda. The pickup is awesome and the interior is well appointed. This is a fresh new car from Hyundai in a sea of all the bland camrys, accords & altimas. Very pleased with the dealership and got a great lease also. Cant beat the warranty. Try and beat that Honda, Toyota and Nissan.

This is my second review. Wife and daughter T-boned a lady driving a Saturn Outlook doing 50 MPH in our Sonata GLS, then spun out into a ditch. Based on the damage our car was totaled. The Sonata held up very well, all 4 doors would still open and the front end crumple zones took the impact very well. I was very impressed with the safety of the vehicle, both wife and daughter walked away pretty much unharmed. I would buy another Sonata based on this alone, including other features like the fun to drive, comfort and reliability factor. BEST car on the market for the money, hands down.

  • Great Car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

We have had this for four months now and love this car. Performance, handling, and ride comfort are outstanding. The mp3 player will also play wmas. The only complaint is fuel mileage. Dont expect good mileage from this car. We have averaged just over 20 MPG. You should test drive this before you buy anything else.

  • Somewhat Disappointed... - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

My biggest issue is that gas mileage is much lower than the 20/30 estimate. I dont drive aggressively, and in the past have always gotten higher than the posted estimate. This car gets about 18/24. I wouldnt have bought the car if I had known the reality. Radio sounds terrible--very tinny. Tires are low quality. Interior is average. It does run well, has nice pickup and is certainly is great to look at.

  • 2006 Sonata Great Ride - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

This is my 3rd Sonata in 10 yrs. The last one was a 02 Sonata. Had 55,000 miles on it when I traded it for the new 06 GLS Sonata. Still drove like a brand new one. Main reason for trading was the new design and the 3.3 6cyl with the dual exhaust. And ofcourse the peace of mind of having the new warranty for 6 more yrs (bumper to bumper) Very quite ride and very fast. Got the cloth seats instead of leather this time. The seats are very comfort and fit to you body. Saved alot of money by going thru this site and doing your homework on prices. Get the dealer quotes from the links off of this web site. You will save thousands before you walk into the door. Internet Sales Dept is the best way.

  • Excellent Car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Pleased in almost every way with new 06 V6 LX Sonata. It drives great and looks great. No problems after 5,000 miles. Gas mileage is a bit disappointing getting only about 26 mpg highway. Steering wheel radio controls should be improved to allow changing between preset channels and the trip computer controls should be added to the steering wheel radio controls like those found on other cars. Many impressive safety features like stability control and dual side airbags arent even available on most other cars in class. Overall all I love the car. I have no regrets in trading in my 2003 Nissan Altima which was a good car but didnt hold a candle to Sonatas builty quality or performance.

This is my first new car in 10 years. It is a complete joy to drive. I am so glad I picked it over the honda and toyota. Not because they are not also great cars but with the hyindai you get the same type of car for thousands less.

  • Still happy after 3 years - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Very attractive and reliable car. Have put 36K miles on it in 3 years and have been very please with overall performance. Only issues have been minor. Has excellent power for a 4- banger and gets great mileage (esp on the open road). Switch on power seat and a brake light switch have had to be replaced other than that - nothing. Only complaint is that the car sits so low to ground that it makes changing own oil a challenge.

  • Dons opinion - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

The vehicle has poor suspension in the rear and the seats are not comfortable. The seats should have more padding and the interior is too plain.

  • 2006, The year Hynudai got serious - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I never thought I would own a Hyundai but the 2006 Sonata has completely changed my opinion of Hyundai as a car manufacturer. Not only is the interior and exterior craftsmanship of the vehicle top notch, it doesnt come with a price tag that will give you sticker shock. I have had the car for almost two months now and I absolutely love this car.
