i had a 2002 volkswagen passat prior to this sonata, this car seems far better than the passat, for thousands less.i would recommend this car to anyone.

  • Watch out for Hyundai Customer Service. - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I had some with the passenger seat and it failed VA inspection. I took that car to Pohanka in Fredericksburg VA. They were nice but they ended up keeping the car for 2 weeks to get parts from Hyundai.OH Yeah, Hyundai does not provide a loaner. The car is nice, but the service and support for their products are awful. They did fix the seat but there were some cosmetic things they forgot to fix and I have to take it back again. When I bought this car, It was between this and the Saturn Aura. If I could do it over again, I would have purchased the Saturn but wanted to save some money. You get what you pay for. The car is nice, but if you want the company to back the product, go somewhere else.

We were looking for something to buzz around town in for our family of 5. We are very happy with the car, no compliants. My wife also likes the car a lot. The car is very quiet. I have no regrets with our purchase.

Gas mileage is suspect. While local driving is OK, highway mileage is low. Ive gotten 25 MPG when driving on Interstates at the posted speed limits. When I asked about the mileage, I was told that the tests were done with 91 octane, which is not mentioned on the window sticker. It is in the owners manual, but one does not see that until he/she is the owner. Frankly, I was disappointed that I can only get the low end of the mileage range with the recommended octane gas--87 octane. I dont believe the warranty lives up to the hype. If it does, why do I need to pay $1593 for additional warranty coverage?

  • best car for the money - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I changed my car from Honda Accord to Hyunai Sonata because of car accdident. I am satisfied with the car so far. It gives me a lot of power and space for the money. This car also gives me good riding and low level of noise. The most sarisfied feature is the power. You can only get 4 cylinder one from Japanese bench marks such as Accord or Camry at this price. I like the quiet interior, too. However, sometimes I miss the engine sound of my previous Honda when I was accelerating.

  • Sonata Best Sedan for Price - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

This car has been been very reliable and it drives perfectly. The exterior rivels that of Audi and BMW. My only complaint is the bland and somewhat disfunctional interior.

  • Affordable Near-Luxury - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Since 1997, weve owned two Tiburons, an Elantra GT, and, currently, two Sonatas. This car is greatly improved over the previous generations. My wife has an 02, and theres absolutely no comparison. The ride is firm, yet supple; cornering is flat and agile; power is smooth and ample; the interior is comfortable and spacious; controls are intuitive and well-placed; there are amenities galore, and a plethora of standard safety features. All in all, not only a worthy rival to the Camry, Accord, Altima, Mazda6, G6, LaCrosse, Malibu, and Fusion, but better overall than most of these. When price and warranty are factored in, this Sonata is nearly irresistible.

This car is a very good deal. The steering is well connected and the ABS brakes are well suited for city traffic. The seats are comfortable for both my wife and me. I like the performance fro a 4 cylinder engine. No trouble with hiway on ramps.

  • Hyundai can handle its own - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

We were skeptical when we bought our Hyundai. When Hyundai first came out years ago, I referred to them as "throw away" cars. I really wanted a Toyota Camry or a Honda Accord, but I couldnt afford one. I liked the new look of the Sonata and i was in the right place at the right time. We love our car. Hyundai is keeping up with its competitors - The Camry and the Accord. We are pleased

  • Too much hype - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Quality seems good, excellent paint job. Annoying rear noises when gas tank is full. Auto climate control makes noise when vehicle slows and door closures makes a secondary clang noise in trunk area. Dual exhaust is not aligned evenly. Power seems good altho trans to acceleration seems slow. Correction of these issue would make a great car. Mildly disappointed.
