  • Good So Far - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Purchased new in Feb 06. Price was great, dealer was willing to negotiate when we told him we were cross shopping Hondas and Toyotas. Avg MPG 25, which is good for that V6, it moves. Crack in dashboard at 4k, passanger seat replaced due to rattle at 8k, oil leak fixed at 12k...little worried about the quality. Have had more issues than wifes 99 Camry with 170k on it. God Bless the waranty and cross your fingers. This is our first Hyundai purchase and so far would purchase another if the price is right.

  • Great Vehicle, Great Price - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

The car rides and handles well. I had one problem with an oil leak the first day. It seems the oil press. sender was loose. Funny click noise from the tranny when going from reverse to drive. Not sure if this is normal. Good gas mileage avg. 27-28mpg with 80% highway driving. I wonder if some of the cars with poor fuel economy have their tires inflated properly. My tires looked flat at the recomended 30 psi. So now I have them set at 36 psi. This gives me a little less rolling resistance, but the ride is a little more harsh. I am a salesman on the road most of the day. It is a nice treat to get into this car knowing the deal on price and what the car offers in comfort and highway ride.

We love our car.I rented a 06 on vacation and we had to get one. we own a 05 elantra but after driving the 06 sonta we had to trade it in for one. The room and v6 power was so much better. The fuel economy was not that much different. Thank you.

  • Great car except for suspension noise - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

We realy like our new 06 Sonata LX except for one thing. The suspension on these cars make a really loud sound when going over bumps. It makes the car sound like a bucket of bolts. This has been a major topic of discusion on the Hyundai forums with a lot of owners looking for Hyundai to provide a solution. Its to bad because other than that its an outstanding car. You listing Hyundai? Wheres our fix!!

  • Best bang for the buck! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Had the car for 2months and only got 500 miles in. Still breaking it in.

  • Super Value, very good car. - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I now have 30k on my 06. Would make the same purchase without hesitation. Yes, I wish fuel economy was better, but 200+ horsepower aint free, I get 25mpg city and hiway. Quieter than the Buick Park Ave I replaced. People comment on how quiet the car runs and at hiway speeds. You cant buy anything as good as this car for anything near the money, I was off the lot for $18,200, wanted a Passat, but saved $4500 and got much more back seat room in the deal. Service costs have been negligable, most appointments have cost less than $50, worst one less than $200. Still feels fresh at 30k. Dealer was very good, actually had fun buying a car for the first time in my life.

  • Hyundai Changed My Whole Opinion On Their Cars - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Very surprised with this vehicle. I was sketchy before I got this car because of Hyundais previous reputation, but after driving it and owning it for a few months, I am very impressed. I want to start off with my absolute favorite thing about this car - it rides so incredibly smooth, and the road noise is minimal inside of the cabin. Seriously, the smoothness of the ride is right up there with GMs more luxurious brands (Buick, Cadillac). The acceleration is impressive (I have the 3.3L V6), and the breaking is great. Another thing Id like to note is how great the overall visibility this vehicle provides. As for the interior, the layout of the radio, AC controls, and the car controls (turn signals, wipers, etc.) is pretty simple and easy to learn relatively quick. However, while I do enjoy the simplicity of the layout, I have to say I dont care for how basic this car is. I know it isnt the LX, but still, this car seriously lacks some features that other cars in its class (Accord and Camry) have. The backseat provides decent leg room and is somewhat roomy for the passengers. This car is 10 years old now, and Im still impressed with the driving characteristics of this vehicle, and my opinion of Hyundai has absolutely changed.

I have owned in the past two Hyundai vehicles. The last was a 2004 350XG which was purchased new and was traded with 82000 original miles of which I put on this vehicle due to my being retired and traveling cross country a lot.I traded the XG for a 2006 Sonata LX 3.3 in Jan 2006 and 15000 miles later the engine light after three shop visits has come on again for the forth time and again Ill be on my way to the shop.Ive made all of my maint.visits and have been very satisfied with the service dept.where I purchased the vehicle.Hopefully I can get this problem cleared up.For the record ..Im a Hyundai fan. • Definitely give Hyundai a look - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I still get insulted by others making fun of my car being Hyundai. But I am quick to inform them that my own experiences and continued positive reviews make Hyundai a formidable competitor in the auto industry. Hyundai is advancing so quickly that the Sonata is already behind in relation to other Hyundais. Even still, this vehicle is similar to Honda and Toyota in every sense and surpasses Nissan and most American builders. I owned a 2002 Altima which was a nightmare. I plan to be one of the first to test drive Hyundais new Genesis sports sedan. If youre looking to save money but still want a quality, stylish, dependable vehicle. At least test drive a Sonata.

  • Great car at a good price - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I highly recomend this car. The design turns heads, the interior is spacious and comfortable, the ride is smooth and responsive. The sunroof and mproved radio option is worth the money. I traded a 2003 Snata, which was a very good car but underpowered. Miles per gallon are short of advertised. I live in Florida and the airconditioner is very important, this car has cold air even in 95 degree weather.
