Comfortable, great options, good dealer, sharp looking -- an eye opener on the road. Has come a long way and to boot the best warranty in the industry. I feel its the best deal for the money around -- recommend to anyone looking for a great looking car at a good price and unbelievable warranty.

I bought my 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS June 16 and put it to the test. My car passed with flying colors on a 750-mile RT to NH. Trip average mpg was 31.5 - speeds to NH often topped 75 mph and the trip up was 30.5 mpg - southbound was 32.5 mpg. The 4-speed AT performed flawlessly and the Shiftronic clutchless manual is a breeze - downshifting automatically while upshifting is yours. Cabin soundproofing is excellent and the double-wishbone front suspension firm with a good ride even over the pothole-filled ramps to the GW Bridge. The 4-cyl,162hp engine has lots of zip, even up the long, I84 grades north of Hartford. RPM is 2.4k at 70 mph. Hyundai hit a homer with this car!

  • Fun, performance, and great Looks !!! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I have had some of the worst vehicles known to man - Intrepid,Taurus,Astro. I Really needed a car, but none really interested me until the Sonata. I knew nothing of Hyundai until I checked the web, and the reviews were outstanding. BUT when I saw it, I knew I had to have this car. The quality and attention to detail is outstanding as was the price. The interior and trunk have lots of room. We love this car, and will probably get another Hyundai for my wife. Drive one - it handles like its on rails and pulls hard (if you get on it). The warrantee is second to none.

  • Would not buy again. Looks good-eats gas - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Have driven the car 11,000 miles and gas mileage average is 19.9 MPG (for the 11K miles), sticker said 20 City, 30 Hwy. Rust spot by the sunroof, paint starting to peel around stone dings. Carpeting already worn by drivers left foot rest. It is reliable, the new 235 hp engine is fun to drive, except lagging acceleration in passing. Had to replace horn, it had gone dead. Dealer does not keep promises for service. Had to call Hyundai to schedule service by dealer, since service manager would not return calls. Other offerings offer greater value in this price range. Was looking at the AZERA, sharp looking car... but after this experience, will go somewhere else.

  • My first Korean car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I have considered buying a Hyundai for many years. I am sorry that I took so long to do it. I am so impressed with my new Sonata, that I am considering going back and purchasing another new car with them. The Sonata blows the Toyota out of the water as far as standard features and the price difference is enough to make you switch brands. This is a great vehicle and it has enough amenities to make you change to Hyundais for life. The front seats are different to adjust until you get used to it. My sugggestion is to go with the power seat option.

  • Great Car For the Money - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I bought this car after many months of Research. I looked at the obvious candidates, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Altima. All the cars were good, but the Sonata had something the others could not match, Value for the Money. The car runs strong and has PLENTY of get up and go (0 to 60 in the 7 second range). I have had the car now almost a year and in that time only a few very minor things have gone wrong. First the Windshield Washer pump went out, no biggie. And Second some of the black out tape around the doors on the passenger side came off and has had to be replaced 2 times now. Other than this NOTHING else has gone wrong with the car. I would HIGHLY recommend this car.

Ilove the way it handles and holds the road. The brakes are awsome on this vehicle. The transmission is perfect it shifts up and down, like a standard shift.

  • Its OK for the price. - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Great styling inside and out. Great safety features for any vehicle class. Good color options. 4-Speed SHIFTRONIC Automatic is fun, but it has some lag. Handling is OK but could use some improvment. Seems to need the electronic stablity control all the time. Steering definitly needs to be more responsive. large cabin space is a plus. It feels like a larger car, unfortunatly it drives lik one too. Projection style headlights offer good lighting at close range, but are lacking at moderate distance.

Well I have never been as happy with any new car as I am with this one. This is one great car. I cant get this car away from my wife nearly often enough. The V6 is spectacular, loads of power and very smooth. The manual shifting option is great in the mountians especially for passing. The front passenger seat could be more comfortable though. All in all a great car for the money. I am considering buying one for myself, as we like it so much.

I researched this car for 4 mos. before buying, only regret, not buying it sooner!! I was raised in a family of (american)auto enthusiasts, and used to really love driving. Havent since 1980...UNTIL NOW!! Its fun to drive, avg. 30mpg, smooth quiet luxury sedan mounted on a sports car frame. Got the GLS 4cyl 4spd auto. 10,000 mi in the first 3 months-no squeaks, thumps or any problems!! Love it, took my mom back to the dealer a week later & she got a Hyundai too!
