  • Love it - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I did the research. My Sonata is everything and more that I expected. Very nicely engineered. The body is beautifule and it is quiet and solid. My only digs are the front seats could be a little better and my MPG (90% city) is only at 23. I highly recommend this car. I paid only $18,100 and I got the 4 wheel disc brakes, the auto and the fog lamps!

  • 2006 Sonata, a NEW Hyundai - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I had been in the market for a new car for sometime, and after driving most competitors, I tried the Sonata and fell in love, in so many ways I knew it was the car for me. The car itself is beautiful, a great exterior design and the interior is no slouch either with sweeping lines and a graceful center stack. The seats could use a bit more bolstering though. Everything works perfectly, as one hopes in a new car, but I foresee the quality holding up well. Maintenance is easily done, with long intervals due to advanced design. I love driving the car, its fast and easy to drive with elan. The transmission shifts slowly from 1st to 2nd, but it DOES improve in time.

Front Seats could be softer as Ive compared same to leather seating in other makes. The exterior and interior are exceptionally beautiful. The vehicle is a pleasure to drive but havent been able to experience highway driving to ck. the so-called 30 miles per gallon. Would like Hyundai to make a recall to soften seats. The styling is eye popping overall.

  • Surprising Performance - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I stopped in to just take a look and walked out with the paperwork. Very impressive and different feel than what I expected from a Hyundai. Pretty decent HP at 235, decent pickup and a nice feel to the car in all situations tested. Quality inside and out with a solid feel to doors and trunk lids. Loads of safety features and airbags everywhere. I was pretty impressed with the quality and the price at $23k was just an added benefit. I chose this over the Accord V6. The cars I now lease and drive include a Saab Aero 9-5 Turbo and a Mercedes E320. It is the Saab that the Sonata is replacing. Not quite as fast as my Saab Turbo but still quite acceptable and $15,000 less!!!!!!!!

  • A lot of car for not a lot of money. - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

If you told me two years ago that I would buy a Hyundai I would have laughed out loud. I bought a Hyundai Sonata LX loaded and I love it. It drives great, it looks great and the stereo sounds great. The car really handles has great pick up and incredible brakes. The design is beautiful and the interior controls are well thought out and easy to use. My overall experience with this vehicle is very positive.

The Santa Fe was my 1st new purchase and very happy with it. At my age I wanted something sporty and nice looking. I love my new Sonata, has everything I liked and was able to custom it for me, such as sharp chrome rims and a spoiler, and it gets lots of looks. The comfort is as good as the santa fe but the mileage is even better. but once again theres no lighting for the door lock buttons.

  • Check service bulletins - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Pros: Ride is quiet and feels good, great V6 power, ESC is standard, more air bags than most cars in its class even larger, big trunk space with inside safety latch. Cons: No station controls on wheel only volume, there are no vents for back passengers in center console. Review: I have a GLS 3.3 V6 with 17,340 mi. I recently noticed when starting up the car a short noise from the engine was present at each crank up. Upon further inspection from Hyundai it was the timing chain tensioner. There is a service bulletin for the repair, so far thats it.The crappy part is that they have to pull the engine out to do the work. That means opening up most lines. Work is approx 4 1/2 days.

  • Sonata LX Overtakes the Pack - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Had 1999 Sonata GLS for 5 yrs. 120K Excellent vehicle w/ minor cosmetic defects, e.g., turn signal falling of by itself, visor latch doohickey breaking off, etc. & odd declarations that really didnt diminish performance, "wrong HP advertised" (advertised @ 171 was really 161 hp.) But still a quick car. Bought the 06 Sonata LX. 235 horses... interior "supersized" w/ nice leather interior, seat warmers, dual AC/heat controls, huge trunk, and pulling every bit of the horsepower to make this a top end thrill drive. Really fun ride, dependable and good gas mileage (20/30 mpg); my avg. is 28 - 29 in city traffic. W/ gas hitting $2.50/gal, great car, great performance, great value.

  • Good car could of been great - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I love the interior and exterior styling of the car. I wish the cars rear did not look too much like the 05 Accords, it needs its own identity. The front seats are very uncomfortable. The seat belt warning light does not turn off if you are not wearing one. The suspension is horrible, you feel every bump. It is not as silky smooth like an Accord or Camry. The steering wheel radio buttons serve no purpose, all they change is the volume and not your presets or cd track. It needs break away mirrors. This is a nice car but if they fix all my complaints this car beats an Accord and Toyota hands down, but it doesnt and this is why Hyundai will never beat a Honda or Toyota. It will always be # 3

  • Good Value - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

It may not be the best midsize car, but it in the top 5 of the midsize cars and for the price its not bad. Out of 10 I give it a 7.5, lets be for real no car is a 10 humans make them.
