  • Excellent Value - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai continues to produce better and better cars with each model year. I owned a 2001 Santa Fe for a couple of years and was pretty satisfied with it, which is why I was willing to look at the Sonata when it came time to replace my aging Camry. From the moment I sat in the Sonata I knew I wanted it. Its fun to drive and the 5 speed automatic transmission is a good match for the 235 HP the motor kicks out. The car has ample power in the passing gears and launches you from 55 to 75 in the blink of a eye. And surprisingly, the car does pretty well in the snow with the stock tires. The traction control and anti-lock brakes keep the car under control on slippery roads up here in Minnesota.

  • Jet-Smooth Engine is Underrated - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

When choosing this car, I did more research than usual. I started about a year ago, and thoroughly researched 4 or 5 other mid size cars in the $18- 22K price range. I compared everything having to do with size, performance, reliability, and safety, including intangible, subjective, and emotional factors. Things kept coming up Sonata, and not by a small margin. It was the clear winner. The only factor that gave me pause was the lack of reliability data in the new engine and transmission. I fell back to 2000- 2005 Hyundai quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction records, and I found them to be very acceptable and improving. I knew about all the negatives going in, and there have be

  • Very Nice!! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

After having bought many new cars and "lemons" I switched back to Toyota 5 years ago. I had a 4-door pick-up and decided I needed a sedan (more practical. After initally negotiating for a 2006 Toyota Camry V6 I came across the new 2006 Sonata. I nver completed negotiations with Toyota as I wound up leaving the Hyundai dealership with a new 2006 V6 silver Sonata and it is AWESOME!!! My congrats to Hyundai and building a quality vehicle that looks good and reacts well to driving condions. Also, kudos to the fact they offer so many saftery features as standard whereas Toyota charges $200 just for Carpeted mats!!

  • Own a 2005 Sonota needed a 2006 - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

We have found the 2006 Sonota to be an excellent car we own a 2005 and this 2006 is much nicer. More room interior, and very bolb exterior. Gas milage has been great 33-36 mpg mostly highway some city. Much quieter than the 2005 seems to have a little more get up and go. Very Happy!

This is the 2nd sonata ihave owned and just like the other one NO PROBLEMS. Only this 2006 model is way better than the 2003 model.Rides better handels better roomier and quieter. The only thing i can complain about is the EPA gas mileage. It does not get what it says. Overall it is EXCELLANT and i can vouch for that.

  • A car that I have been waiting for... - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I heard a lot about this car even well before it came out. I used to have preoccupation with Hyundai that it only sells cars at a low cost with below par quality, but not anymore. I bought this car, actually my mother, about 4 months ago, and I am completely fascinated with this car (GLS V6). Its got lot of horsepower and has very attractive interior and exterior design. I was very surprised about the engine, because it is very strong and at the same time, very quite. Also, its interior is very roomy. I am about 6 feet and I have no problem sitting in the back. I really want to recommend this car to those who are looking for a mid-size family sedan. It is a car that you dont want to miss.

  • Deam-Car - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Excellent quality. Ingeniously built: Smooth, Quiet performance. Feels incredibly solid like a Lexus or BMW. Everything is included so theres no desire for options. Fully-loaded the LX was a steal - and i paid below the MSRP. Hyundai must have done their market research. Because this is the perfect car.

  • Excellent Value - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

The car is an excellent value for the $. Very roomy, quiet, pleasant ride. Stands up well to other cars in category I test drove (Accord, Camry, etc.). The safety features are a major plus (ABS, ESP, airbags everywhere, childseat-ready back, etc). Good commuter car. Not super agile or fast, but more than adequate for typical driving. Plan to keep the car for many years if it holds up, as Hyundai (and their super warranty) seem to believe it will.

  • Impressive, Could be so much better - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Drives fun and crisp. Lots of power, excellent brakes w/ 4-wheel disk breaks, ABS, and electronic Stability Control, but the fuel economy is VERY poor (~20 mpg on 40 mile roundtrip to work, mostly highway speeds, yet rated at 24-34; my Trooper got better gas mileage on same trip). Auto-transmission shifts smoothly; fake manual is a gimmick. Car feels solid. Not fond of large, dual branding on rear of car. Tried Fusion, Accord, Camry, and Mazda6 as well. This had as good a ride, more pep, better use of interior space. And the price is amazing for comparable cars. Have had for only 1 month so far, so this is my initial review.

  • Be careful Honda! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

Honda and Toyota were two main imports that prevailed for the past decades. But it is official, the hell freezes over!! This Sonata out performes those Accords and Camries in terms of built quality and performance. Actually it can be compared with a Lexus or Acura league.
