  Overall happy with purchase - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

  I like my Sonata, and I am happy with my purchase. However, I am not happy with the fuel economy. I have had this car for a month now, and I average about 18 mpg, even though I do mostly highway driving. I have to fill up my tank after about 280-290 miles on an 18 gallon tank. I am now thinking I should have gone with the four cylinder, but I do not regret getting a Sonata.

  I bought this car after driving it just once. Its built with quality, comfort and affordability in mind. You cant find a better car for the money, you can count on it. It drives smooth, quite and the V6 has plenty of power. No problems since I drove out of the dealership. I got to tell you, Hyundai has come a long way.

  My 2006 Sonata is everything that I had hoped for (except only getting 17 mpg). It is a great family car. Lots of room. Huge trunk. Remote keyless entry makes it so much easier. Built in security system. Great sound system. All of this and I am riding in style.

  Poor Gas Mileage - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

  The highway/ city gas mileage has averaged 17 mpg over the course of 12 fill ups and a recent (3/2/07) highway fuel consumption test performed by the dealership revealed 16 mpg. Ive filed a complaint against Hyundai with the Better Business Bureau but Im looking to take this issue higher up. I drive the 06 GLS 3.7 liter V6.

  I purchased the car on 4/2/06. I drove it to Florida on 4/7. Enroute,the "ESC OFF" and the ABS warning lights came on,and the brake lights stopped working. I took the car to a Hyundai dealership in Gainesville. They replaced the brake lamp switch,and reassured me that it was the cause of the trouble. While on the way back home, I dicovered that not only does the "ESC OFF" light still come on, but the brake lights stay on, the cruise control wont set, and the Check Engine light is on! The car is now at the dealership that sold it to me,awaiting proper repairs. I hope that they will be able to correct the problems,or I will seek relief under the NYS Lemon Law.

  what a beautiful car! it looks so good, and wherever i go i get a great compliment. hyundai has changed forever. my perception has changed forever. this car blew my mind, and it looks so much better than my previous 03 accord, and it costed me 4 grand less than my previous accord. its roomier, and the overall exterior is so much appealing than my accord!

  Very good car...but not perfect - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

  With one exception, this has been a great car. The drivers side seat (non-powered but adjustable)has a squeak that has not been "repairable" after the third visit. The seat is comfortable, but squeaks at stops and starts. It can get rather annoying. Otherwise the car has been all that I could ask for, especially at the price.

  I just bought this car last week, and I have to say it has to be one of the coolest cars Ive ever owned! You cannot believe all of the features you can get on this car, all for under $25,000 dollars! Took it to the hand car wash and the man at the window looked in the camera screen and said "you own the Audi?" Wow! The car looks great and runs even better, what a great car and a great deal.

  Ive owned this car for exactly one year and have put 20000 miles on it. It is one of the most comfortable cars I have owned. I can drive for six hours and not experience any aches or pains. The car is solid. The only negative is the milage but then again I have a heavy foot. I average 28 mpg on the road and 21 in local driving. My dealer service has been wonderfull. I highly recommend this car. For price/performance, you cant beat it.
