  • Big inside for big person - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Car is now 5 days old and I still like it. I had to replaced a 93 Grand Marquis due to the high price of gas and a 110 mile a day commute. This was the best fit (at 61", 225 lbs) for both my budget and size. Acceleration, handling, and breaking are all terrific, although it does not take much to beat my last car. The big plus is comfort - much better gas milage and I am not hitting my head on the ceiling. Interior "usable" space is on par with the GM (I neve had more than 4 people in there anyway). Radio and climate controls are easier to reach. Trunk is also more usable (less bending over). All in all, the best compromise between size and fuel efficieny I could find.

  • Best Value on the Market - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I drove just about every thing available in mid-size sedans. For the money, I couldnt find another car that could compete with the 06 Sonata. Never thought I would buy a Hyundai ... until I drove this one. You owe it to yourself to check one out and save yourself a lot of $$$! Every bit as good as Nissan or Toyota ... and much better than anything Ford/GM/Chrysler offers.

The car has met all the expectations that Edmunds review stated. We did find the front seats comfortable during a 4 hour road trip. It drives and handles like a dream. A smooth ride with minimal exterior noise and great responsivness. The stereo is excellent and the six disc CD changer is handy. The trunk doesnt look very large from the outside but, it seems to be a "bottomless pit" when you load luggage! Another nice feature regarding the trunk...when there is water on the trunk lid it does not flow into the trunk compartment upon opening. Someone finally got it right! Overall, this is a great car and it is made right here in Alabama!

  • AWESOME DEAL FOR A GREAT CAR! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

After EXTENSIVE research, I chose the Hyundai over Accord and Camry. Cost was over $4000 less and it had features I couldnt get with those models. Great Highway Car. V6 is Very Powerful and Torquey and a pleasure to drive. Extremely quiet, even with sunroof open. Gas Mileage is about 25 MPG overall with 75% highway (75 mph with air on). Considering Horsepower, quite acceptable. Dash is well laid out and easy to read in all light conditions. Controls are intuitive and seats are comfortable. Full featured, well options, superior handling, powerful car that looks good for a great low price. HIGHLY recommend.

  • Must have family sedan - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

My family has always bought Honda/Acura for the last 10 years. This year the Hyundai Sonata earned my money. Yes, Accord and Camry are great cars but when you compare the price and option, the new Sonata wins hands down. Before I buy, I drove all 3 models and here is my conclusion. Performance on all 3 models 2.4L are comparable, not much more or less of each other. Options are great on all, however the Sonata has ESC = Electronic Stability Control standard on all model. Comparing price, options and warranty, the Sonata wins the final round. This car broke the Honda buying history in my family. Based on the performance and options, this car is underpriced when compared to the Camry and Honda. Similar performance and options but better price and warranty = YOU CANT LOSE.

Excellent car--fun to drive--beautiful design. My friends admire it. I definitely would buy another.

  • The Family car you want to own - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

This car has been my commute vehicle for a 72 mile a day commute and it has worked flawlessly for the past 2 years. The dealer treated me well, gave me an embarassingly low price, and taken fine care of me since. The car, unfortunately is not a performance vehicle and handles like a big car. But every time I get in to go, it always takes me. Plenty of room in the interior and the trunk. Id buy another in a second!

It does every work when I need to do such as passing ahead, emergeny break, cornering at high speed.

  • Former Passat Owner - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Ive got pratically all the features that were in my fully loaded 02 Passat, yet several thousand dollars cheaper. The six year 60,000 mile full coverage warranty was quite a draw too. So far so good!

  • Too much hype - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Quality seems good, excellent paint job. Annoying rear noises when gas tank is full. Auto climate control makes noise when vehicle slows and door closures makes a secondary clang noise in trunk area. Dual exhaust is not aligned evenly. Power seems good altho trans to acceleration seems slow. Correction of these issue would make a great car. Mildly disappointed.
