  • Not your average Hyundai - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Many people have a stereotype of Hyundai cars for decades when it comes down to its built quailty or reliabity. Hyundai has been working hard and improved their product quality dramatically since late 90s. They say the new Sonata is a conerstone of their companys new image and the future. I was very impressed by its design when I saw the car in the showroom. It had Japanese sharp looking and European- like elegance at the same time. I was very impressed again by its Toyota and Honda like built quality when I test drove the car. Yet, class leading powerful V6 3.3L engine was more than surprising. Now manufacturing in New State-of-the-Art plant in Alabama, Hyundai is really moving forward.

  • Better than the rest - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Traded in an 05 Sonata which was an excellent vehicle but the 06 just rocks. Much better than anything else I have owned. Build quality and drivability is a top. I would reccomend to anyone. Paid $20,100 for the LX V6 with the sunroof and sound package. Nothing comes close.

  • SIMPLY THE BEST!!! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

This car is without a doubt the best I have ever owned which includes GMs, Fords, Hondas and VWs. It has amazing pick up especially for a four cyl and the A/C is ice cold which is very important here in Florida. I love the tight handling and huge trunk! The color I have is "dark cinnamon" which you cant find with every make and I love it.

Love my new car. Have had Hondas and Nissans but this is far my best vehicle. Great on mileage. Drove it to Chicago to break in. Averaged 41 hwy and 27 city which was great. Would recommend it to everyone.

I hope this will be helpful. I absolutely love my Sonanta. Every where I go people are asking about it. It seems everybody is interseted but timid because of Hyundais old reputation. Well its gone. Before I bought my Sonata I owned a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I thought that was fun to drive but it was nothing compared to my Sonata. The Sonata is comfortable, nice styling, practical, fully loaded, fast, and the engine is very quiet even when stepping on the pedal. My advice, if you are in the sedan hunt, buy the 2006 Sonata. Hyundai is definetely taking a huge step in the auto industry. If you are looking for luxury wait a year or so Hyundai is coming out with high line to compete with Lexus, BMW and such.

  • Great Car, except... - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I am quite pleased with my 06 Sonata. I bought it used and it has had a few squeaks and rattles. The main problem Ive had is the rear shelf squeak/rattle sounds like the car is going to split apart. Dealer finally replaced the shelf this morning and well see if that worked or not. Mileage is okay, but not great. I love the car, its performance and its look, both inside and out. Id buy another for sure!

  • **Piece Of Crap** - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

**If you have the V6 Engine take note** Hyundai knows about a problam with the timeing chain auto tensioner which will cause your timing chain to fall off on the V6 engiine. I have 3,500 miles on my "06 LX" and it had to be towed in to the dealer and have the engine removed, taken apart and put back together again. It was in the shop for one week out of service. How was Hyundai service ? the dealer did a great job fixing it but Hyundai offered no compensation. Hyundai and the dealer also told me they know about the problam with the V6 and are trying to pull cars off the lot to put in the new piece. This is my second Hyundai and my last.. Look at the Honda or Toyota not Hyundai

  • Great car but with rattles - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

The 2006 car is my fourth Hyundai and undoubtedly the best. It is also the most expensive so I expected a better ride, beter everything and it lived up to all the hype produced by Hyundai, almost. It still rattles over rough roads and lets you know it does not care much about the somewhat harsh ride over such roads by producing the noise. It handles better, is smoother shifting, and has more than enough power to get you into trouble with the law if you can afford such adventures. This car even gets a wee bit more gas milage than the others with a much bigger and more refined engine. There will probably be a fifth Hyundai someday.

I just Love this Car. It has great looks, drives wonderful, handles great, fun to drive, reliability and quality unsurpassed. The many standard features, both for convience and safety is unmatched even in cars much more expense. I believe this is the best keep secret in America. Great gas mileage for a engine this size - V6, 235 horse power. I get 23 in city and 34 on the highway.I just dont see spending several thousand more dollars for a Camry or Accord, etc.I would compare this to one any day! You cant go wrong with this car.

  • Cant believe its a hyundai - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

I have had my car for three months and one week, when i first bought the car i could not believe all the standard eqiupment was getting for the money plus the V6 engine i would have spent more buying a honda or toyota so i do not regret getting my aquamarine sonata GLS V6, my only problems with the car is the gas milage which could be a bit better, but you can you forgive the cars short comings with the V6 engine which suits more than my needs, im glad i got this instead of the basic 2007 camry CE, This is my second hyundai sonata, my major decesion was value of the vehicle, and the peace of mind of not having to worry about changing a timing belt.
