  • Simply Amazed - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Until July, every car I owned had at least 140,000 miles when I bought it. I did a lot of research and comparisons, and my Sonata ended up being fully loaded for just about the same price as a base model of Camry, Accord and Legacy. The car has the interior comfort and size of a full- size/luxury car. It gets good milage given the size & power of the engine. The features (power everything - including driver seat - the sunroof, the size of the trunk, etc.) are amazing, and are a deal that you cant and shouldnt pass up.

We bought the Sonata LX w/sunroof and 6 cd system. We drove the vehicle last weekend into the North GA/NC mountains. This vehicle handled those mountain curves with no problem. Our first 1100 miles we have averaged 25 mpg. Great pickup, great looks, it beat out an Accord and a Camry for us.

  • Check service bulletins - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Pros: Ride is quiet and feels good, great V6 power, ESC is standard, more air bags than most cars in its class even larger, big trunk space with inside safety latch. Cons: No station controls on wheel only volume, there are no vents for back passengers in center console. Review: I have a GLS 3.3 V6 with 17,340 mi. I recently noticed when starting up the car a short noise from the engine was present at each crank up. Upon further inspection from Hyundai it was the timing chain tensioner. There is a service bulletin for the repair, so far thats it.The crappy part is that they have to pull the engine out to do the work. That means opening up most lines. Work is approx 4 1/2 days.

  • Sonata LX Overtakes the Pack - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Had 1999 Sonata GLS for 5 yrs. 120K Excellent vehicle w/ minor cosmetic defects, e.g., turn signal falling of by itself, visor latch doohickey breaking off, etc. & odd declarations that really didnt diminish performance, "wrong HP advertised" (advertised @ 171 was really 161 hp.) But still a quick car. Bought the 06 Sonata LX. 235 horses... interior "supersized" w/ nice leather interior, seat warmers, dual AC/heat controls, huge trunk, and pulling every bit of the horsepower to make this a top end thrill drive. Really fun ride, dependable and good gas mileage (20/30 mpg); my avg. is 28 - 29 in city traffic. W/ gas hitting $2.50/gal, great car, great performance, great value.

  • Our first Hyundai - 2006 Hyundai Sonata

My wife compaired cars based on interior room. For the last 13 years and 197,000 miles later we have owned two Dodge Intrepids. 2 weeks ago the A/C had to be repaired in Feb.. Even for Dodge, thats impressive. Instead of driving home after the car was repaired, a stop was made at our local Hyundai dealership. The car was appraised and I presented a news paper ad for a Sonata LX. Much to my surprise, the offer was just too good to pass up. Went home, discussed the offer with my wife and now she drives a wonderful car with Leather interior. My son and I share an Explorer Sports Trac. He is in 11 grade. He loves the v6 with auto stick. I love the 10 year inclusive warranty.

Great car. Have several road trips from Va to Fla and Canada. nstalled XM radio which made a good trip even better.Nice acceleration and smooth braking. Is stylish and roomy. Can carry a bag of scuba gear and luggage for three people easily.Do alot of highway driving and you can set the seat back and be extremely comfortable. Have read a couple of complaints about the seats but this must be strictly a personal preference.

Saw the new sonata in front of my Gym and was impressed. Went to the dealer following day and traded in my 96 Camry. Wanted a V6 but I think 4 felt plenty powerful. Extremely well built. Feels solid and confident. Looks BEAUTIFUL! This is by far the best deal out there!!!

  • Hyundai Sonota is the Perfect Vehicle - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

I have owned my Sonota for 2 months now and it is the best car that i have ever driven. I am 6 foot 2 inches tall and this car has more leg room, head room and shoulder room then the Accord or any other competitors and it drives so much better as well. The price was great, there is no better deal out there when it comes to buying new.

  • Just about perfect! - 2006 Hyundai Sonata
    By -

It has been a year now since we bought this car - our first Hyundai product - and I must say that after having owned new Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans plus many other brands, none of them have been flawless like this Sonata. Power is excellent (and on regular fuel too, fer crying out loud), very quiet to drive, decent fuel economy, especially considering the size of the car - wow. I still like the looks and the V6 engine is great. The stereo was a bit tinny at first but I guess the speakers needed to break in because it sounds excellent now. Service has been oil/filter changes and that is all. Nice work Hyundai!
